On the bright side, the Yankees started a washed up CC against the best team in the NL and only gave up two runs. We were the best team in baseball before Oakland... And they still are, along with the Dodgers and Houston.

We were the best team in baseball before Oakland... So we’re not the best team any more because of a three-day stretch? How many days will it take to earn the title back? Will we have to do a cage match?... In terms of the record and power rankings yes. It will taking us actually win a series against a play off team. My point was what I said. LA is only the best team now. We were a weak ago. They should be happy to beat us.

BTW how come we had to play 3 in LA and they had to play none in NY? That’s how inter league works Russ. The next year we play them. They will come to NY and we won’t go to LA. There are not enough games scheduled to balance it each year...

Maybe they’ll hang the belt off one of the foul poles and whichever team can climb up and retrieve it will win it...You have an odd perspective of certain things...

Go look at the power rankings on Monday and compare them to last Monday. I never said the LA series alone decided anything. It was the 3 series against play off teams where we were 3-6.
This is not really a controversial point. When you lose relative to other elite teams you fall in various rankings...

Still don't understand how time can be called when a runner is halfway down the baseline.

Still don't understand how time can be called when a runner is halfway down the baseline. That was a strange play all around.

I had to go out for dinner but I saw in the game summary in the 9th Didi tried bunting with two strikes and bunted foul for the out? And Tauchman struck out with the bases loaded with one out? Frustrating. [img src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/gszgVuvxUtZEFrgJSkis.gif" alt=" " class="smile"]

Still don't understand how time can be called when a runner is halfway down the baseline. Just saw this. WTF? This bullshit cost us tying the game! [img alt=" " src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/FiHotxkemjkOUexMSrRn.gif" class="smile"]

[img src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/FiHotxkemjkOUexMSrRn.gif" class="smile" alt=" "] I get it, but then I don’t get it. Muncy was folded up in pain with the ball tucked under him. Torres had rounded third, went back and stopped there before I think Nevin told him to go. I think the stop is what lost is the run. I disagree with 🐜 that Torres was 1/2 way home. I’d guess 1/4 or 1/3. I’m not sure the ump saw him start for him before he granted time. The problem I have is that I’m not sure what circumstances are required for time to be granted...

well......I think the injury created an immediate time out, and Torres would probably have been sent back to third if he had crossed the plate....Didi had the right idea leading off the inning, but just needed to get the bunt down and we would likely be talking of a better ending to the game....continuing with the candy and nuts conversation, the two strikeouts by Yankee hitters with the bases loaded were weak.....
