Yeah I knew what you meant thats why I didn't post a link. It was a poor title for video to get hits.
I've seen them roasting Casey on MLB Network about that play lol

Funny, but I had no appreciation at the time what a rare play I was making on poor Donnie Ritchie...Although, since he got to stay at first, on a technicality (stupidity), I suppose the play was never really an official out...But you can believe me, I had that ****** by a full step...

Most WP in MLB this year so far...
Garret Richards, 15 in 61 innings
Second most WP in MLB this year so far...
Aroldis Chapman, 9 in 25.2 innings...His ERA is 0.90...
No one else has more than 7, there are three starters with 7
Second most WP by a pitcher who has only pitched in relief
Bryan Shaw, 6 in 29.2 innings...his ERA is 7.36...interestingly enough, Shaw leads MLB in appearances to date this season with 33...

Looking at pitchers who are "non-qualifiers" for stat rate MLB leadership, there are some unsustainable-looking hits per 9 innings rates among relief pitchers...
For instance, look at the numbers below...name, innings, hits, hits per nine
Seranthony Dominguez 14.2 innings, 2 hits; 1.2 hits per nine Adam Ottavino 28.1 innings, 8 hits, 2.4 hits per nine Josh Hader 34.1 innings, 10 hits 2.5 hits per nine Jose Leclerc 20.2 innings, 7 hits 3.0 hits per nine Kyle Barraclough 26.1 innings, 9 hits 3.1 hits per nine Dan Winkler 24.1 innings 10 hits 3.7 hits per nine Jeremy Jeffress 30.0 innings 13 hits 3.9 hits per nine
All so video game like that I can't believe them to be sustainable, or with the "new fastballs" topping out at over 100MPH is this the new norm? And also, since all of those numbers seem so unsustainable, why do I believe the next name on the list CAN sustain his numbers?
Alrodis Chapman 24.2 innings 11 hits 4.0 hits per nine
*tonight's/today's stats not included for any of the above...
Post Script: Josh Hader has already fanned 69 batters in relief this season in his 34.1 innings, 18.1 per nine innings. He is the only pitcher with 10 or more innings pitched that has a higher K rate per 9 than Chapman, who has 45 Ks in his 24.2 innings for a K rate of 16.4. Dellin Betances is third among that group at 15.5, fanning 43 in 25 innings...

Anybody think Torres can eventually put up a 30/30 season? (30 hr 30 doubles... not talking about sb in this equation) According to bball ref. if we stretched Torres season out for a 162 game average he'd have 42 hr and 21 doubles. Obviously, you can't predict anything from this, because 1) it's not even a full seasons worth of data, 2) nobody plays in 162 games, 3) Torres has pretty much been on a hot streak since the moment he's been brought up, it doesn't account for down periods. 4) many other facts that you guys are smart enough to figure out. I just saw the 162 game average and thought to myself, in the future, would it be out of the realm of possibility for him to put up those numbers. From everything I heard, he'd have 20 hr power MAX... that he was more of a contact guy than a power guy.

You know whats funny is that the old adage is that as young players mature and fill out that some doubles will turn into homers. Obviously small sample size thus far but if Gleyber had some of his doubles turn into HRs hed be a 50 homer guy at this pace lol. I think he has an outside chance at being a 30/30 HR/2B guy with the way the league hits home runs these days...if my count is right there were 16 guys who did that last year. Im just not sure if Torres will sustain this home run prowess.

The thing that drives me to believe he'll keep hitting HR is not how many he's hit, but the length of the ones that he's hit...He's not hitting wall-scrapers, so the power is definitely there. Yeah, 30/30 in that context, 2BH/HR is more than likely going to occur at some point, perhaps multiple times, in his career... I'm also happy that it looks more and more like Andujar can reach 30/30, too...That's 30 2B and 30 walks for him, though... (: 30 HR for Andujar? Maybe. I think he hits so many line drives that a high doubles total is almost a given, and I would hate to see him start elevating pitchers more at this point...I want that .300+ average and a moderate number of HR...And I really don't care for more than 50-70 BB out of a guy with that kind of hit tool. Reminder: Mattingly. Seldom walked but man, could he sting the ball...

A couple of 30/30 HR/2B guys from recent Yankee past...
ARod did it 7 times. Tex did it 7 times. Stanton has done it 4 times. Mattingly did it 3 times. Beltran did it 3 times. Cano has done it twice. Tino did it twice. Bernie did it once. Matsui did it once. Paulie O never did it.
Not all times the above guys did it was with Yanks obviously.

Inger, how do you think the wife feels about being immortalized on this board? That is what Ruthian Legend stands for, right? Being on the level of the legendary Mrs. Ruth Inger?

I thank you guys for your input. I saw an article the other day about the real 30/30 club (30 hr and 30 sb) and they were saying how there were a few players on track to joining it this season.. Amazingly (or perhaps just not so amazingly) about 90% of 30/30 club members have been on roids.

Ruthie is always pleased when I receive an honor. When that honor includes her, she’s even more pleased. She’s a great gal, with a huge heart...

Only the link for the mug would open for me...I did get a kick out of the "proudly made in North America" slogan...which could just as easily read, Made in Mexico...
