Did anyone notice that Nathan Eovaldi pitched in the majors for the first time in two years following surgery? He threw six no-hit innings in only 70 pitches! He was on a pitch count and was pulled. Remember that idiot on the A's.. Dallas Braden? The one that yelled at ARod for running across the mound... Well he's an announcer for the A's now and called out Evoldi for digging in his glove for pine tar... Live on the broadcast Well, that is dumb, since I believe it's pretty well known that all the pitchers are doing it, and that everyone in the sport is now accepting the practice as being safer than having slippery hands...

I listen to the Barstool Sports Starting 9 podcast and Braden is one of the hosts. Hes a bit of a kook and I never liked him bc of that ARod incident but hes good on the pod.

Well he sure likes to hear himself talk so maybe broadcasting will work out better than his baseball career. Like Inger said... Pine tar is pretty accepted.. chances are some pitchers on every team dabble to get a better grip... But that's not even my chief complaint. This MFer just accused someone of cheating (it's accepted but still against the rules) and the only proof was Evo was digging into his glove with the thumb on his throwing hand. Was it pine tar? Most likely but what if he just had an itch or something stupid. It's not like you could see exactly what was in his glove. Or what he was doing in his glove. Braden just likes to hear himself talk.
And with Nathan's heat and already shitty control... I think opposing batters would accept him getting a better feel for the ball.
Now the whole pine tar and spin rates and the asstro?? That's another topic for discussion. I think it's more shady than pine tar what's going down in Houston..
Feels like that took forever to type. Got a free phone that just lags n freezes non stop

I'd be so embarrassed to be the hitter. I'd put runner but that would assume they were running. I'd be pissed if I was the manager. It seemed like a good portion of those plays were with two outs as well

Some crazy 9-3 putouts I found on YouTube:
This reminds me of the time that I was playing in CF and cut a ball of in front of the RF and threw a guy out at 1B. He refused to leave the base, arguing that "he can't throw me out, that was a hit". An argument ensued...In the end the umpire decided that he "may not have made the right call", and the SOB got to stay on 1B. I knew the guy ran like a snail and went for the ball with a purpose, perfect one hop catch, perfect throw...Damn, I was pissed off then, and I'm pissed of now...

I was actually looking for video of an 8-3 putout but couldn't find one.

I was one throwing SOB back in those days. That was probably one of my last great throws before my shoulder went bad. It's still bad. Sometimes I hurt myself just reaching for stuff...Especially like reaching behind me while driving...

The video was "so and so throws so and so out at first from center field" but it was the short stop fielding a ground ball in CF... I remember now

I remember now I'm looking for the CFer throwing out the base runner at first in an MLB game. That would be crazy. I found one where the LF threw out the runner but it didn't really count because the runner didn't run out of the box thinking it was caught by the infielder first. See for yourself:
