1880’s hurler Lady Baldwin was born Charles… I thought this was doing a different way. 😂… It shows how difficult life can be when you want to live clean…

Mildly useless drivel, but Klu is one of a small group of players with ten-letter last names with a HR title…
TED KLUSZEWSKI
Campanella had 41 HR in 1953 when he won his 2nd MVP. Petrocelli hit 40 w/BOS in 1969. Yastrzemski hit 40+ thrice: 1967, 1969, 1970. Big Klu had 40 in 1953, 47 in 1954 & 49 in 1954…

The only player in White Sox history to accumulate 4,000 EXB is Paul Konerko, with 4,010…

Damian Miller is the first catcher in the post-expansion era to complete the throwing half of three strike ‘em out throw ‘em outs in a single game:
Catching Randy Johnson on 25-Ma-1999 at the BOB, Miller threw out would-be base stealers on The Big Unit’s 1st, 5th & 8th Ks in the 1st, 4th & 7th innings respectively...

In the meaningless drivel category of coincidence, Damian Miller also was the first player to get a hit in an All-Star game in a park bearing his last name. Yes. Miller Park. 7/11/2009. Miller tied a record by hitting two doubles in an All Star game. The game ended in a tie…
Yawn. Slow day today…

Okay, I haven't played in years, but I maintain I can beat these guys: I finally got time to watch both of these vids. I remember taking a 17 on a par four water hole once. Oddly, I played well the rest of the day. But a 66? Holy moly. A 266 was it? I was around 120 my first round… I think the worst was a 126. Jeez, Rizz. Maybe we need to bust our clubs out…

It will drive you crazy, as someone who doesn't like people dawdling on the course. (Just realized I posted the wrong one...oh well). Here it is! I have been thinking of golf for awhile now. Really longing for the weekend camaraderie of a group of friends and the bit of exercise the game bestows. I miss my old life, coming home from a round of golf, having Sarah turn her nose up and tell me, "Get in the shower, Mister!" I'd draw a bubblebath in my clawfoot tub upstairs, open the window to look out at the mountains and feel the breeze, and soak my sore muscles in the hot lavender water as Sarah sat on a leather stool and caught me up on all things I missed since leaving early that morning. My dogs laying on the cool tile next to my tub. Then, I'd go downstairs to my wonderful kitchen, sharpen my best chef's knife, and start cooking for dinner. As George Bailey remarked, "I really had a wonderful life."

"On the morning of the seventh game, Terry told a writer: 'After that Mazeroski home run in 1960, the fact that this team is letting me pitch the seventh game is like a tonic to me.' It was two years later and Terry had won more games than any other American League pitcher in the 1962 campaign, and still he needed a vote of confidence to erase the image of Bill Mazeroski, and to wipe out the stigma of being a loser. They said of Ralph Terry after the 1960 Series, after the seventh-game, sudden-death home run, he had not been dismayed, he'd been destroyed." - Littlefield, Bill. …

As George Bailey remarked, "I really had a wonderful life." These words from the middle of “The Guess Who’s” “Laughing” are beginning to ring so true: Time goes slowly, but carries on And now the best years The best years have come and gone The golf clubs are taking up space we could use in this smaller house. They’re in the office closet which also serves as our coat closet and houses our multiple vacuum cleaners and a carpet cleaner. I think there are still about 50 balls in the bag. No that I ever carried 50 when I played. I threw the last golf shoes I had away. They had become uncomfortable. My glove was ripped to shreds. They never got cleaned from my last round in KY. I was extremely depressed at that point and wasn’t even finding joy in golf… I should have immersed myself in it while I had the chance. Houston Oaks in Paris was a challenging little test, but I didn’t like the length. There were only rate opportunities to break out the driver. It’s also the reason for the fifty balls. There was a green with a steep hill behind it that ran done to a snake-infested creek. I went behind the green that day to search for golf balls and came back up from the creek having seen three snakes and collected those 50 balls. I usually carried 10-12 premarked for play, so they’re in there, too. And a few extra clubs that were stuck in there for the moves… damn bag weighs about 80 pounds, I think… all right. Maybe 55 pounds… 😂 I always enjoyed the most the rounds where I could slip out unexpectedly by myself after 2-3 in the afternoon. Just me and the course. But I do know what you mean. A round with friends could be so much fun. A little competition. A little team play…
