I finally got time to watch both of these vids. I remember taking a 17 on a par four water hole once. Oddly, I played well the rest of the day. But a 66? Holy moly. A 266 was it? I was around 120 my first round… I think the worst was a 126. Jeez, Rizz. Maybe we need to bust our clubs out… Try to watch the other video, too, Inger. There is a guy in a green shirt that I want you to see. It will drive you crazy, as someone who doesn't like people dawdling on the course. (Just realized I posted the wrong one...oh well). Here it is! I have been thinking of golf for awhile now. Really longing for the weekend camaraderie of a group of friends and the bit of exercise the game bestows. I miss my old life, coming home from a round of golf, having Sarah turn her nose up and tell me, "Get in the shower, Mister!" I'd draw a bubblebath in my clawfoot tub upstairs, open the window to look out at the mountains and feel the breeze, and soak my sore muscles in the hot lavender water as Sarah sat on a leather stool and caught me up on all things I missed since leaving early that morning. My dogs laying on the cool tile next to my tub. Then, I'd go downstairs to my wonderful kitchen, sharpen my best chef's knife, and start cooking for dinner. As George Bailey remarked, "I really had a wonderful life." Sometimes getting behind some of these people make me long for a 14th club in the bag. One with a scope on it that would fire a nice 44 M hollow point. Just leave the guy there on the course as I played through. Do his foursome a favor… More often I would just long for one of those explosive activators that Wilee Coyote used and just blow them up from a distance…

This is a timely nugget:
After Ralph Terry hung up his cleats, he became a professional golfer who won the 1980 Midwest PGA Championship — the only former Major League player to win a PGA tour event.

Less discussed than when Terry allowed the Mazeroski homer in 1960 is his remade motion in 1962:
Two Octobers later, after pitching a four-hit shutout in the Yankees' 1-0 World Series (Game 7) clinching victory, Terry was named the MVP...

In 1961, Ralph Terry became the first New York Yankees pitcher to have at least fifteen wins AND finish with a winning percentage above .840; however, that same exact year, Terry and Whitey Ford were actually both first, as Ford also finished above .840, won 25 games, the Cy Young Award and set a new team record (.862) for winning percentage that was broken seventeen years later by Ron Guidry (.893 in 1978). One year later, Terry had his first twenty-win season and was the first Bronx Bomber to surrender forty-home runs in a season, a franchise record that hasn't been broken to this day...

Sounds like ME:
A guy is 72years old and loves to fish.
He was sitting in his boat the other day when he heard a voice say, 'Pick me up.'
He looked around and couldn't see anyone.
He thought he was dreaming when he heard the voice say
again,'Pick me up.'
He looked in the water and there, floating on the top, was a frog.
The man said, 'Are you talking to me?'
The frog said, 'Yes, I'm talking to you.' Pick me up, then kiss me; and I'll turn into the most beautiful woman you have ever seen. I'll make sure that all your friends are envious and jealous, because I will be your bride!'
The man looked at the frog for a short time, reached over, picked it up carefully and placed it in his shirt pocket.
The frog said, 'What, are you nuts? Didn't you hear what I said?' I said, 'Kiss me, and I will be your beautiful bride.'
He opened his pocket, looked at the frog and said,
'Nah. At my age, I'd rather have a talking frog.'

For some reason that tradition didn't last long.

Rusty Greer had fine, but short career. In nine seasons (all with Texas) he produced a .305 career BA, and a short peak from ‘96 to ‘99 during which he slashed 315 .398 .502 .900 126 With 80 HR and 396 RBI. Those numbers are easily ignored when placed up against the steroid-fueled giants of his era, but I’d love to have a left fielder putting up those numbers on today’s Yankee team..
