Kaybli’s next fancy eating : “What kinds of ants to you have steaks made of.”? “Per chance does your chef know how to properly prepare sushi de caterpillar.”? … “My friend has told me about rice with little black grains in it. Do you have that?” Were they sweet ants or dill? lol, tasted like chemicals from the RAID spraying I gave them the day before. Nasty.

I remember many years ago when Patrick sent me a PM, telling me that he needed another good poster like me on the subscription side.
Falling for that*, I signed up. Then I kept posting stuff like my prior post and pissed some of his old time posters who took the site way too serious… 😂
There were a couple people there I grated on so badly… I temper one guy that wanted his own thread tgat he could comment on and he didn’t want anyone to reply. Like his own sports column. I would reply and he’d get pissed off. Then I’d remind him it was a PUBLIC forum. Ah, the good old days…
* I say Falling for that because he “needed me” but I still had to pay the membership fee to sign up. Clever boy, that Patrick.
I haven’t checked lately, but I assume the site to still be a wasteland with a comment per month or something. I hope it’s that same guy (can’t recall his name)…

Pet peeve of the day:
Why are people starting to change pronunciations?
Example: Important now is being said like impordent… Seems to be most common with female celebrities…

Things I stew about:
Did 1930’s-40’s outfielder Dee Walker have a brother named Jay? Sisters named Bee, Dee, and Kay? …
I need help, I swear…

Ted Williams led the majors w/145 RBI in 1939, still the record for rookies. Walt Dropo challenged his teammate’s rookie mark with 144 RBI in 1950. In the last 2 games in the season, he had more 2 H, but no more RBI…

Teddy also scored a minimum of 120 runs per season in each of his first eight full seasons. <time off for war>. He led the AL in that department for 6 of those eight years…
In 1939-1942 then 1946-1949, Williams scored, on average, 135 R, leading MLB 4X and the AL another 2X…

With all the black ink Williams had it could be easily forgotten that he led the AL in doubles in 1948 (44) and 1949 (39). Also that he led the AL in IBB nine times…
Williams is one of a few MLB players that drove in 150 runs in an MVP season. In 1949, he hit .343 .490 .650 with a league leading 43 HR and 159 RBI. George Kell and Williams both posted .343 averages, but Kell claimed the title by a fraction of a point. Surprisingly Vern Stephens tied Williams for the RBI lead.
Williams won the MVP in a landslide over 2nd place Phil Rizzuto and 3rd place Joe Page of the Yankees…
