Okay, the Athletics have lost 11 of their last 12 post-season series going back to 1990, but they did sweep -- guess who -- the Twins in the 2006 ALDS. Braves and Twins have been the poster children of futility in the playoffs since 2000.

And then you have the Mariners, who haven't even appeared in the post-season since 2001, the longest drought of any professional team among baseball, football, basketball and hockey.

Jeez, Braves going to their fourth pitcher in the third inning down 13-0.
Hopefully the Dodgers - Nats game tonight lives up to its potential with the Buehler-Strasburg matchup.

Who are you supporting? Definitely the Nats. Let them do some of the Yankees dirty work and take out the Dodgers to give the Yanks HFA in the World Series.

I used to root for the Nats in playoffs bc Harper, Strasburg, Scherzer, Rendon... Especially Harper and Strasburg when they were younger. I still would take them over the Dodgers as a team but would rather the Yanks face the Dodgers in the WS so we can say we beat them.

I agree that from a baseball history perspective it would be more fun to beat the Dodgers than the Nationals. I just think it would be to the Yanks benefit to have homefield advantage in the World Series, which they could only get with Washington. Plus it seems like it might be pushing things to have the Dodgers lose three consecutive World Series.

Hard to believe the Braves have lost nine straight post-season series and haven't won one since 2001. I need to see how Oakland compares for post-season futility. Make it 10
