Hi Inger -- yeah, it sure seems as if we should do better than nine votes. I haven't seen Utah around lately.

He didn’t like something that occurred where he felt too much discussion on here seemed to center around stats, I think. But, he’s still around. You could either go to the college football thread and call for him, or PM him...

Glad to be here, Kaybli. I've had a lot going on since I got back, but I've been checking in here and enjoying the commentary. I'll try to contribute a little more leading up to the ALCS. What a great performance in the ALDS. It looked like something from 1998! The last few days including going to game 2 are the most fun I've had with baseball in a while! How was your Africa trip? Still jet lagged?
I'm mostly over the jet lag, Kaybli. The trip was like living in an old National Geographic special. My wife and I were the first white people some of the younger kids in the remote villages had ever seen, and they reacted accordingly. Maybe I had mentioned that earlier, but it was amazing to experience. Certainly my first witnessing of a voodoo ceremony. I slipped a little Twins curse in there. We had to cut the trip short by a few days because of a family issue back home, but still it was all we could have hoped for. But definitely not for everyone. A very different world from the one we live in.

He may be lurking from time to time. He just said he wouldn’t be commenting (Or commenting much, I sort of forgot). I hate to see us lose him again, but the discussion here is what it is. I don’t know how it could be changed? So I guess majority must rule...Which is sensible...

I think there is plenty of room for different approaches to talking baseball. Although a larger number of participants would surely help.

Hope everything is okay at home though pipps!

I've tried getting more posters through facebook ads, twitter, reddit, etc. I do wish that some of the 50 or so posters signed up would post more often but I understand that people are busy. Maybe we should appreciate the guys that we do have that have been together for so many years. That's what makes our group special.

Greatly appreciated.

Greatly appreciated. Thank you! I wish it was more fruitful. I can get more clicks but it seems like no one wants to sign up and post. It's not an isolated phenomena though. Most message boards are losing traffic. Twitter and reddit are where its at these days.

First, we all “get” the heamyha theme, which while humorous, doesn’t exactly scream “Come to this site to talk about the Yankees”. Maybe we could ask Howard Stern to have people start hollering heamyha out at various events like he did to popularize Baba-Booey. Secondly, we all have developed an understanding and tolerance for each other that some sensitive posters don’t seem to be able to adapt to. We understand our sometimes dark senses of humor and and at time deprecating exchanges. They make us smile, but new folks again may struggle to keep up with the theme. Thirdly... there’s things like this, where I can’t think of a third reason...🤔

Twitter is good for getting information to the masses. But its missing the warmth and personal touch of a good message board like your friendly neighborhood bar.

I could change the name now but I don't think it would guarantee new posters. I wouldn't change the URL for it would confuse the existing posters on where to go. I don't even think I can change the URL without starting over with a new forum which would be impractical.

I wonder if it could be as simple as “heamyha” (a Yankees Forum), without having to change anything officially? Then maybe start a thread with that name, and when people type Yankee Forum into a search engine we may come up...
