HeAmyHa was originally supposed to be a temporary forum so I didn't put much thought to the name. I could change the name now but I don't think it would guarantee new posters. I wouldn't change the URL for it would confuse the existing posters on where to go. I don't even think I can change the URL without starting over with a new forum which would be impractical. Yep. You explained that before, and I agree. I wonder if it could be as simple as “heamyha” (a Yankees Forum), without having to change anything officially? Then maybe start a thread with that name, and when people type Yankee Forum into a search engine we may come up... I'll see what I can do.

We do come up already by the way, at least on my search engines. It might not take much to just outsmart the system a wee bit...

I've tried getting more posters through facebook ads, twitter, reddit, etc. I do wish that some of the 50 or so posters signed up would post more often but I understand that people are busy. Maybe we should appreciate the guys that we do have that have been together for so many years. That's what makes our group special. Perhaps that’s a wee bit of the problem. First, we all “get” the heamyha theme, which while humorous, doesn’t exactly scream “Come to this site to talk about the Yankees”. Maybe we could ask Howard Stern to have people start hollering heamyha out at various events like he did to popularize Baba-Booey. Secondly, we all have developed an understanding and tolerance for each other that some sensitive posters don’t seem to be able to adapt to. We understand our sometimes dark senses of humor and and at time deprecating exchanges. They make us smile, but new folks again may struggle to keep up with the theme. Thirdly... there’s things like this, where I can’t think of a third reason...🤔 The third reason nailed it!

We all remember and of course, who expected Scout/247 Sports to go so far downhill as it has? The problem with our name is when you type "New York Yankees message board forum" into Google, we don't come up.

You've gone above and beyond on recruitment drives, Kaybli. Greatly appreciated. Thank you! I wish it was more fruitful. I can get more clicks but it seems like no one wants to sign up and post. It's not an isolated phenomena though. Most message boards are losing traffic. Twitter and reddit are where its at these days. I don’t know, is it really a problem to be solved? The way the internet is these days more traffic here doesn’t necessarily make it better it could very well make it intolerable unless someone is willing to invest a lot of time moderating the influx of completely inappropriate and intentionally trolling posts? I was a part of another group that we had to completely abandon because of that crap. I would be careful what you wish for.

Its a delicate balance between having enough posters to make it fun and keeping the quality of the board up.

Well, GF has a good point. A large amount of participation without moderation can be a problem. On another point, I personally do not know (or perhaps just don't remember) what "he amy ha" is supposed to mean. It used to come with some cartoon of some asian/pacific islander guy's picture. Can someone erase this area of ignorance from my existence?

More posters =
Taz Geo (don’t say boo) Remember the neggies? Karl1982 (otherwise known as “son of Karl1958) Probable influx of 14 year old gibberish Miggator TMarino
But it might also grab us some more guys that will fit in... Of course when noetsi completes building his electronic replacement we’ll have to put up with that, too...

Karl was responding to something I wrote and wrote those “words” with no explanation. And as far as I can tell he never explained it and even came back later when someone wrote it in a post to him complaining that it didn’t make any sense. So it probably was a typo born from one of his incomprehensible rants.
