For all practical purposes, the Yankees bench tonight consists of Austin Romine and Aaron Hicks.
I believe that if Stanton is IL'd for this series, he is not eligible for the World Series. Anybody know for sure?

"A club may request permission from the Commissioner's Office to replace a player who is injured during the course of a series, but that player is then ineligible for the rest of that round and the subsequent round, if there is one."

It just never ends. This is turning into Ellsbury all over again. Stanton had some gravitas in the lineup, too. No one wants to make a mistake to him, even when he’s not hitting. I’ve been impressed with his plate discipline since coming off the IL. Need Maybin to step up with a couple hits.

I’ve been impressed with his plate discipline since coming off the IL. Need Maybin to step up with a couple hits. I was thinking the same thing. It was encouraging seeing him with good plate discipline and not lunging after breaking balls down and away. Who knows, maybe he hits a game winning pinch hit home run in the ninth. But the Yankees have to be wondering about how his body is going to hold up over the next ten years or whatever is left on that contract. Maybe this is just a one-year issue and he becomes Lou Gehrig moving forward.

Well, crap. But we won alot of games without Stanton this year. Just have to keep doing it.

The difference is the deal with Ellsburry did not last 10 plus years.

Maybe that's why Hicks is on the roster.. they knew Stanton wasn't 100% and wanted an extra OF in case he got injured during a game or was too hurt to play and not hurt enough to end his season???

With all this attention Verlander is getting, Paxton can steal the show.

My sojourn with this horrendous cable company continues... After all these months, yesterday I was struggling to find the game and I find this feature that tells me when Yankee games are coming on. Tonight it worked... and after having this package all season, I find out that I can get the games on 4K channels. I’m watching 4K baseball for the 1st time...
