Everything is basically where most of thought it would be after 3 games. I think this shifts back to the Yankees favor for game 4 tie up the series and go from there. Houston isn't really hitting either 4 solo shots, a sac fly, wild pitch, is 6 of their 7 runs over 3 games.

You ignore when the good Houston pitchers were pitching (which we will have to likely face 2 more times) we scored 3. Scoring 7 in the third game does not address anymore than it would if we had scored 20 in that game. The trouble in this series is that we likely will have to face Verlander and Cole 4 times on regular rest. And there is no obvious way to win that way. Its not pitching per se, its the rare true ace (two of them). We can beat a good pitching team. Iam not sure we can beat them. Hopefully we will. We need to win by game 6 and not face Cole again who is simply impossible right now. I stated the facts and ignored nothing. And Zach Grienke is a guy a lot of Yankees fans were crying about because Cashman didn't trade for him, so I think he counts as a good pitcher and the Yankees beat him. The Great Verlander would have took a loss in Game 2 if Ottavino didn't blow the lead, so the Yankees could certainly beat him later this series. People over analyze this stuff, even tonight, as good as Cole was, if DiDi drive to RF goes a couple more feet, it's a three run HR. That's how close these last two games have been. Excellent points, CHI.

The Houston relievers pitched a lot better than they are credited with.

That was probably the biggest moment of the game. I'm sure DiDi wishes he had that swing over again.

By the way if I can change the subject from doom and gloom, Luis Cessa was great tonight.
Hicks put up really strong ABs and played very good defense.
Gleyber is Gleyber.

They didn’t execute on it (other than DJ) but those short Abs swinging early in the count probably weren’t accidental or just impatience.
