We can use media logic as well they want to brag about how Cole hasn't lost since may well the Yankees haven't lost a home series since April they win this home series and they will be up 3-2.

Its true that several times balls almost went out. They may not have gone out because we faced ace pitchers or it may have been bad luck. I don't know. When a hitter gets a great pitch to hit and just misses it, I don't it's relevant who the pitcher is, It's just bad luck for the batter. If it was a great pitch to hit. Maybe it was a great pitch to make contact with and not drive it out of the park. Some pitchers give up very few home runs.

I just can't believe last week the discussion overall was ok Yankees will be behind 2-1 after 3 because they'll lose to Verlander/Cole and beat Grienke. That's exactly what happened and people are like what a sorry excuse for a team etc!

FWIW they broke Cole's double digit strikeout streak so the media can shut up about that.

FWIW they broke Cole's double digit strikeout streak so the media can shut up about that. That outing may not exactly lead to him having a super confident approach the next time out either. Lack of control is a frustrating item to take to bed with you after a start. You have to have at least a fragment of doubt in your head until the next start...

I think the rain could really help the Yankees. It puts some decisions on Houston if the Yankees win game 4 and tie it. Do you go to Verlander in Game 5 on the road when he is homer prone this year and take away the chance of him starting game 6 or 7 since there are no off days? If you go Verlander in Game 5 and you lose do you go Cole on 3 days rest in Game 6 with your season the line or do you trust a bullpen game on Game 6? Save Cole for 7*? The Yankees then get Tanaka in Game 4, Paxton in Game 5, and the bullpen game that would have been game 4 is now maybe game 6 which gives the yankees the advantage. This all hinges on the Yankees winning game 4 of course.

Now the problem is after tomorrow's game is rained out, we will play 4 straight games in 4 days and none of our relievers have pitched 3 days in a row all season. Sure, Houston faces the same problem but they have starters that will give them more length. I think we can win Game 4 with Tanaka vs Greinke on Thursday. Then we can get to Verlander on Friday. That will put us up 3-2 going back to Houston. My guess is then, back's against the wall, Houston pitches Cole on short rest in Game 6. We will have to win one in Houston with a tired bullpen to eek out this series. Things are about to get very interesting.

I have always been bemused when arguing the Yankees are making bad decisions is seen by those who disagree as a mark of not being a fan. I stuck with the Yankee for a very long time, I am almost certainly the longest member on this board and for years I did the baseball game threads pretty much alone. I simply do not agree with many of the present strategies and theories of management. It is true that I am pessimistic by nature - and that influences my comments. I think that is also true of those who see no problems with the Yankees. Either way it has nothing to do with being a fan.
