The Yankees have declined their option on Edwin, so he won't be back.
Agree or disagree?

Agree. Good addition last season, better ways to spend that money.

He was fun while he lasted...His age, lack of foot speed, lack of versatility all say he was only a temporary solution for 2019. His hot streaks are wonderful, his slumps annoying. Thanks for the memories. We no longer dislike your parrot. Too bad Dome wasn’t with us to squawk every time you got hot...And invite you over to swap, of course...

Edwin Encarnacion age 22-29 :
.264/.344/.471; 159 HR, 502 RBI, one 30+ HR season
Edwin Encarnacion age 30-36 :
.262/.359/.525; 255 HR, 740 RBI, seven 30+ HR seasons
The game of baseball is for the young. There are exceptions...

Save that money and use it next season to trade for an unexpected need in season....

The Parrot walks the plank! No surprise to anyone here, I suspect. His bat was needed with the injuries, alas it didn’t travel to the Houston series. I prefer more athletic hitters, even as a DH, for versatility and to score from second or beat out a grounder in crunch time....unless it’s Edgar Martinez. Also, we’re loaded with right handed power.

Right... we have Stanton, Andujar, Frazier, Voit all available to DH in 2020...

I agree that it was time to move on from Edwin. In 44 games, he gave the Yanks 13 HR's and a .856 OPS but he only hit .249 and struck out 48 times, plus he gives you little on defense and nothing with the base running, he also disappeared in the Houston series. With a 5 million buyout, the Parrot gets a nice goodbye present.

Thanks Edwin for your contributions this past year, except for your abysmal performance in the Houston series. Assuming the others mentioned above can return from injuries we should be fine at DH. If Voit struggles early next year I guess we'll have to find somebody else to play first base. Maybe Mike Ford or, dare I mention him, Greg Bird.

Trick is a commonly used slang for prostitute.. therefor, you can get a trick to give you a treat.. and possibly an STD, not of your choosing. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Hard to disagree with all of the above. I think we all saw this coming. There's 15 large we can put toward a small percentage of what will be needed for the Cole collection.

No one here is surprised he left. We need starting pitching not home run power.
