He was also one of those guys, like Cary Grant or James Cagney or Edward G. Robinson that every bad impersonator used to do back in the 1960s. Gotta be near the top of the list of bad casting decisions...Edward G. Robinson as "Dathan" in "The Ten Commandments". Hilarious SNL/Rob Schneider take on it... www.youtube.com/watch?v=6o3aMo7JkcEHah, that was genuinely funny. And not too far off from the real film.

Another great show was Justified. Anything by the late great Elmore Leonard is worth watching. Great characters and great dialog. Anyone seen the show Bosch. It first ran on Prime, but now it's on Freevee. They made a sequel series with many of the same cast. Both are very entertaining and the lead actor Titus Welliver is really good! Bosch is on my list but haven’t gotten around to seeing it yet.

Yes I watched the first two seasons. His panoramic view from his house on the cliff is amazing. i read some of Michael Connelly's Bosch books so I was interested in watching this series.. So many things to watch, I never got back to watching further.

I think that often movies made from great books seem to miss the mark. I think the original Shogun was an exception. I'll hold judgement on the remake until seeing more of it. Two made for TV movies based on Pulitzer winning books that IMHO, are excellent are Lonesome Dove and Gettysburg. Lonesome Dove had an extrodinary cast and I never tire of watching it. Gettysburg, based on the great book by Michael Shara - Killer Angels, is a very underrated movie (IMO). Pretty good cast including Jeff Daniels who was superb. My only negative critique was I didn't care for the way Martin Sheen played Robert E. Lee.

They ran episode 1 and 2 back to back. I think there was so much hype that my expectations may have been unrealistic. I thought it started a little slow but picked up. Not ready to call it a hit or a bust at this point.

I really liked Fargo, season 5 was good. I discovered June Temple who was an absolute hoot. Jennifer Jason Leigh was also very good. Really liked Better Call Saul and was sorry to see it end. I like Yellowstone and am patiently waiting to see how they write off Costner. I have to catch up on Fargo. I only saw season 1. Better Call Saul is one of my favorite shows. The last few seasons were spectacular. These are some of my favorite shows:
-The Wire (my absolute favorite)
-The Sopranos -Breaking Bad -Better Call Saul -The Americans -True Detective -Peaky Blinders -Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon
-Mandalorian/Andor -Chernobyl
Some of my favorite TV series in no particular order...
Game of Thrones Rome
Dexter Homeland Billions
TWD 2 Broke Girls Young Sheldon 2 1/2 Men Friends Pillars of the Earth Spartacus
Will & Grace Shelter Stranger Things The Alienist
Taboo Beef The Watcher Schitt's Creek

No, I'll put it on my list. Speaking of Jeff's, I thought Bridges was good in The Old Man. Waiting on season 2.

This afternoon I watched Hitchcock's masterpiece "North by Northwest". "How does a girl like you, end up like a girl like you?" I have a box set of Hitchcock movies. Classics to be sure "North by Northwest" is one of my favorite AH movies, but my favorite AH movie is "Lifeboat".

Bridges is another favorite...I'm waiting for the next season of "The Old Man'. But I understand he's not in many of the episodes due to his health issues that I think he's overcome. Great in "The Big Lebowksi" & "The Fisher King". "Hell or High Water" pretty good too.

That one was chilling. The ancient feel of the movie makes it even more so. It was one of the staples of Theater Arts classes back in the day. From before the time when Peter Lorre settled into a comfortable career as a character actor in Hollywood. He was also one of those guys, like Cary Grant or James Cagney or Edward G. Robinson that every bad impersonator used to do back in the 1960s. My brother talked me into to getting a box set of Charlie Chan movies when it went on sale. If anything it humorous and stereotypical of how Asians are viewed during that era. Seeing Hawaii in the 30s is cool. I'm a fan of the Charlie Chan (Warner Oland) and Mr. Moto (Peter Lorre) and Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) mystery movies. I enjoy watching many movies from the 1930's and 1940's. I became a big horror movie fan growing up watching all those Universal Horror movie classics (Frankenstein, Dracula, Werewolf of London, etc). One of the actors in the Werewolf of London is the aforementioned Warner Oland.
