Yeah, years fly by so quickly. Another 1930s detective series was Nick and Nora, "The thin Man"...William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora. I watched them all.... Thin Man were great films. Con't say I have seen them all, but a few.

Pretty sure Bomber will agree with me on this one, I'm a fan of Columbo and watch the reruns quite a bit. A show that I thought was good and hasn't been replayed that I'm aware of was Hill Street Blues. Columbo is my all-time favorite show, although it was billed as movies. I have seen everyone several times each, and don't believe there is a bad one in the bunch. Although, my least favorite is probably "No Time to Die" and my favorite is either "Negative Reaction" or "Any Old Port in the Storm". Hill Street Blues is another one of my favorite dramas. The acting was gritty and excellent! Dennis Franz got the lead in NYPD Blue based on his work in Hill Street Blues. My all-time favorite comedy (not that anyone asked) is Barney Miller.

Only if you smear it with Jif. I’m what they call a choosy mother, after all… I read that Target brand (Good & Gather) PB is a dupe of Jif. Likely less costly. I have yet it try it.

My brother had foot surgery a couple of years ago. He spend many weeks with his feet up chronologically watching Columbo. His quirkiness was amusing for him. Is there a Mrs Columbo?

I told you the story of literally bumping into Peter Falk in Manhattan in the YES forum. Very friendly, gracious guy...

Some of my favorite TV series in no particular order...
Schitt's Creek
Loved "Schitt's Creek". Stumbled upon it and got hooked.
Yep, a very funny show, with a great cast, a very likeable cast, and very likeable characters.

I'm a fan of the Charlie Chan (Warner Oland) and Mr. Moto (Peter Lorre) and Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) mystery movies. I enjoy watching many movies from the 1930's and 1940's. I became a big horror movie fan growing up watching all those Universal Horror movie classics (Frankenstein, Dracula, Werewolf of London, etc). One of the actors in the Werewolf of London is the aforementioned Warner Oland. I like those same detective series, Max. Keye Luke as Number One Son. I also liked the even older Bulldog Drummond movies with the distinguished Ronald Colman. Dick Powell going from upbeat Busby Berkeley musicals to playing Philip Marlowe. My all-time favorites in the mystery film genre were the impossibly suave William Powell and his elegant partner Myrna Loy in the Thin Man movies. I also loved those Universal horror films. Especially the really old ones that opened with the prop plane circling the globe. "Bride Of Frankenstein" is one of my favorite movies of any genre. I felt so sorry for the jilted Karloff. "She hate me."
Love those Thin Man movies, there were always laughs to go along with their adventures. The Bride of Frankenstein is a classic, she had a small part in that movie but Una O'Connor is one of my favorites. She had some very funny scenes in the movie "The Invisible Man."

Some of my favorite TV series in no particular order...
Game of Thrones Rome
Dexter Homeland Billions
TWD 2 Broke Girls Young Sheldon 2 1/2 Men Friends Pillars of the Earth Spartacus
Will & Grace Shelter Stranger Things The Alienist
Taboo Beef The Watcher Schitt's Creek
With the cost of cable and Amazon Prime, I refuse to add more expenditures for media entertainment. Thus I don't have netflix or hulu so if I'm missing out on some series, so be it. I believe Schitt's Creek is aired on Hulu.
I forgot to mention a show call "Evil" that's on Paramount+. It's a supernatural/mystery with some good laughs thrown in along the way.

There was a Mrs. Columbo, her name was Rose, but she was never seen in the Columbo series. She was mentioned in all the episodes and was present (off camera) but not seen in several. Columbo's first name was Frank. It was never spoken in the series, but it can be seen on his credentials. There was a spinoff series called "Mrs. Columbo" who solved crimes. I never saw it.

Not to mention Asta, who has been called "the Lawrence Olivier of canine actors." Yes, those films had plenty of laughs in the most urbane settings. Wow, that was a deep dive to come up with Una O'Connor in BOF. I admit I had overlooked her. If you'd said Elsa Lanchester or EE Clive or Colin Clive or Ernest Thesiger or Valerie Hobson I would have known instantly, so good catch there. She was a wonderful character actress with those buggy eyes and tense disposition. She was also in one of John Ford's best films "The Informer" (also Victor McLaglen's best role) and my favorite version of "David Copperfield" (the one with WC Fields and Lionel Barrymore) and several Errol Flynn swashbucklers. Maria Ouspenskaya was another staple of Universal films, usually playing some creepy fortune teller.

William Powell, Myrna Loy and Asta had some of the best on screen chemistry in the history of film. "The Thin Man" series is so entertaining. I've never met you pipps, but I imagine you being a William Powell type, only with an old fashioned instead of a martini. Asta was terrific and had quite a career besides "The Thin Man". www.imdb.com/name/nm1208817/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_1_nm_7_q_astaAsta's feline counterpart is Orangey the cat. He won two Patsy Awards, the animal version of the Oscars. Probably most famous for "The Diary of Anne Frank" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's", but my personal favorite was him teaming up with Ray Milland in the hilarious baseball film, "Rhubarb". www.imdb.com/name/nm1248838/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_7_nm_1_q_orangey

The first episode of "Columbo" was directed by Steven Spielberg and one of the writers was Steven Bochco who went on to create many great TV shows like "Hill Street Blues' and "NYPD Blue".
