Did you see the Sherlock TV series staring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman? I heard it was real good. On my list of TV shows to watch. It’s a wonderful series. I recommend it. Watch it, you won't be disappointed. Cumberbatch/ Freeman was fantastic in their roles.

I think that often movies made from great books seem to miss the mark. I think the original Shogun was an exception. I'll hold judgement on the remake until seeing more of it. Two made for TV movies based on Pulitzer winning books that IMHO, are excellent are Lonesome Dove and Gettysburg. Lonesome Dove had an extrodinary cast and I never tire of watching it. Gettysburg, based on the great book by Michael Shara - Killer Angels, is a very underrated movie (IMO). Pretty good cast including Jeff Daniels who was superb. My only negative critique was I didn't care for the way Martin Sheen played Robert E. Lee. Did you see the first episode or two of the new Shogun series? What was your initial impression? Now 4 episodes in. I thought Shogun started a bit slow but every episode hase pulled me in a little more. I thought the last two were particularly good.

I promised a friend I'd see it with him so I have to wait until early April when I visit him to watch it.

In the series they never mention the Sherlock Holmes character, they just took characters of the book series and place them in modern day series.

I saw commercial for Hell on Wheels, it is streaming somewhere. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. Anson Mount was terrific.

Saw 'Dune Part 2' and it was a straight 10/10 for me. Beautiful, fever dream of a movie.

Some said its this generations "Empire Strikes Back." Now I'm sure that may be an exaggeration but hearing things like that really gets you pumped to see the movie. I can't wait.

I don't want to oversell it, but as a child of the '80s, I think that isn't far off. It was that good...to me, anyway. Experiencing it in the theater adds to the whole experience. So many great things about it, but the score, enhanced by the DLX sound is amazing.

My brother said it wasn't overhyped, that the movie was actually that good, so with your review and his my anticipation couldn't be higher! I plan to see it in IMAX probably next week or the week after.

Last night, CBS-TV News "60 minutes" has a story about the sports theft ring that stole Yogi Berra's 10 World Series Championship rings from his museum. The Yankees would replace all of Yogi's stolen rings for his museum, located in New Jersey. The theft ring had taken all of the jewels from the rings, then they would melt down the gold rings. Also the extra 60 minutes special segment to the story, they would covered the George and Yogi feud.

The regular segment was great, the leader of the group of thieves, you wanted to strangle him to what he did to Yogi's rings for just $12,000! I will catch the special segment with George and Yogi later on tonight.
