April 14 will be the 50th anniversary of Billy Joel on CBS. I donāt know if it crosses with the Yankees game that night, but if it does my incredibly interesting commentary will be missing from the game thread as I watch the great performanceā¦

Good. Iāll be a couch potato deluxe that day. My woman bringing me glasses of water and chips, being quiet do as not to interrupt me. Taking care of the dogs needsā¦yeah, sure. š Sheās learned to love listening to Billy and is almost as excited about it as me. Maybe even as excited. The anniversary is coming on the 11th. Al she wants us to go on one of our sightseeing ventures and eat in restaurants that day, so that may be one of those 250-300 mile journey days where there wonāt be any baseball games. I figure weāll go to Pagosa Springs, a place Iāve driven by several times with out ever stopping by. Thatāll take us over Wolf Creek pass and should still be beautiful snowy scenic drive, as that pass averages 331ā of snow per year. They were a bit short this yeas at 198ā a couple weeks ago when I checked, but they have passed their end of snow season yet (nor have we). Iāve never driven over that pass without seeing Bighorn Sheep (biologically they are actually goats), but who knew that when they named them? azbob643 ! You ever eaten in Pagosa Springs? We seem to have similar taste buds to mine. If you have recommendations that would be cool. Itās an area I like. If I could have moved there in 2017 when I first got out here it was still affordable. Itās growing quickly from what I hear. In 2020 there were about 2,000 people there. Itās proximity to Durango (an hour more or less) and the gaudy real estate prices there have made it an attractive option. Itās only a little north of Chama, New Mexico where we wandered last summerā¦ azbob643 |

Did you see the first episode or two of the new Shogun series? What was your initial impression? Now 4 episodes in. I thought Shogun started a bit slow but every episode hase pulled me in a little more. I thought the last two were particularly good. I finished the first 5 episodes with my friend. I'm really enjoying the show. I wouldn't rank it among my favorites of all time (maybe when its done? who knows), but its very well done. I like all the actors. Have to watch 2 more episodes to catch up. Then there are 10 total episodes. |

I finished the first 5 episodes with my friend. I'm really enjoying the show. I wouldn't rank it among my favorites of all time (maybe when its done? who knows), but its very well done. NY State of Mind, We didn't start the fire, Piano Man,Ā Scenes From an Italian Restaurant, and the list goes on. I know some may chuckle at this, but I regard Joel as the greatest composer and lyricists of music in our times. Perhaps some day kids will be learning about him like I did about Bach, Beethoven, etcā¦ |
