I can get behind this statement 100%... Full Metal Jacket is one of my favorite movies.. Hardly any movies compare. Stanley Kubrick was an amazing director. Dr. Strangelove is in my personal Top 10. Full Metal Jacket was filmed entirely in England. Did you like “Clockwork Orange”?...

I liked it when I was 16 and 25, but I haven't watched it in 40 years. I may have to give it another look. I believe Malcolm McDowell said he'd never work with Kubrick again.

It's a pretty good heist yarn.

A Clockwork Orange would not be an easy sell to teenagers and especially American teenagers, except perhaps the movie’s violence and occasional nudity; however, today’s Internet has made pornography and all objectionable content part of the hearth and home. Unfortunately. Few are shocked anymore. The book from which the movie was made is from the early 1960s, and the author Anthony Burgess was a Brit who created an urban language in the novel, which takes getting used to. Think London East-Enders. The novel and the movie are satirical, yet allegorical in my opinion: a dystopian future society terrorized by extremely self-interested, nihilistic, and violent youths.

The reason I wanted to see Clockwork Orange so bad was because there were several punk bands that had songs about it... I got the movie thinking it was going to be some bad ass flick... and couldn't understand a thing about it... didn't make it more than a halfhour in. Funny thing, I pretended to like it for a while, let my friends borrow it and they loved it. Couldn't tell if they were pretending like me or saw something I didn't... When the VHS came back to me, I told my friend to keep it that I really thought it sucked.. but apparently he loved it

Kirk Douglas died at age 103. RIP RIP Kirk. Damn 103 is a lot of years to live. Indeed, a long life. Depends on your health and quality of life, though. One has to think that Hollywood money kept his lifestyle pretty interesting. Perhaps not Pipps-interesting, but a cool life nonetheless!
