Looks like the beginning of a porno... mmm... Meredith... Pipps, the book is called Billy Martin Baseball's Finest Mind.... by Bill Pennington That's the one I have, Sierchio. Except the title was changed from the original, which was "Billy Martin: Baseball's Flawed Genius." I think you will really enjoy reading it. I have to admit, Billy Martin was one of my least favorite Yankees ever, but this was a rare case where a balanced account of a person with both serious vices and undeniable virtues made me more sympathetic to him, and I did not think that would be possible since so much of his public persona was the antithesis of what I respect in a person. It's a well-crafted biography of a complicated man. I will be interested to hear your reaction. I will definitely let you know what I think!! |

It was but good to see baseball anyway. Pretty lousy TV broadcast. Kay seemed intent on rehashing the Astros story even though he had nothing new to share, they frequently didn’t even mention who was at the plate. They didn’t bother to explain who the subs were when they got into the games. If the broadcast had taken the game more seriously it would have been more entertaining. Kay was definitely in radio talk show host mode in the second half of the game and it was annoying. I'm used to the other team's announcers ignoring the Yankee's substitutes during preseason telecasts, but Kay should have been better. I like Kay but today was brutal. No respect for the viewing audience. |

Sheeeee-it...I’ve had my eye on Gittens for the past three years or so. It’s still a mystery as to whether he’ll be AAAA quality. I hope he gets a chance somewhere. He’s a big bear of a man with power...And is fielding better than originally thought. It can’t hurt to build up some value in a guy like him... |

Lol at the panic articles suggesting the Yankees should jump into the trade market for another pitcher because of Severino. At this point, his situation may improve tomorrow. Then what do you do with Clevenger, or (place any other dream name here) and an empty farm system?...
