With pitchers and catchers reporting tomorrow no better time than now to start the Spring Training Thread!
Those are some god awful shorts. Are those asbestos? I’m no expert or anything, but from the looks of them, I have serious doubts those shorts would show off anyone’s asbestos it could be shown... |

Unlikely anything more that a good-old tough F-250, equipped with a tow hitch and 4-wheel drive. There was never much doubt that Ford could be a pretty steady player that would get on base. Always patient, with a decent but not flashy first baseman’s mitt. The doubt that existed in YankeeLand had to do with his power? Was it enough to tow that horse trailer called 1B? The past few seasons he started to show there was enough under the hood to do that, too. What he lacked was opportunity. Last year the opportunity was there. But so was that blasted baseball that was seemingly making HR hitters out of Ed Brinkmanship and Mark Belangers. That ball is probably gone now, but the configuration of Yankee Stadium will remain the same. His HR ratio will likely drop, but it should still be fine. The biggest danger will be that Voit will be an F-550, and Mike Ford will stay in the garage too much. Rust. Leaky valve seals. A little oil beneath that 4-wheel drive transfer box. Needs vacuuming and the dash wiped off. Good truck for sale. Must be driven to be appreciated...I wouldn’t sell it, but I hate to watch it rust away in the garage. Warning to second owner: Consider the dimensions of right field in your home park... |

Cool! When are you going? Middle of March for a weekend. Probably won’t see most of the starters except for an inning or two that early in spring training. Are you staying in Tampa??? |

AJ was a great pitcher. Just not on NY (although few are as gifted as Cole).

I'll take some pictures (when I can fit into them). Saw them at a thrift store for 2$.. they're $50 shorts... Couldn't pass it up, even if they're a size 34 (currently 36)
