Hampton received a PRP injection a little more than two weeks ago. At the time, he was shut down from throwing for four to six weeks.
“There’s gonna be some downtime,” Yankees pitching coach Matt Blake told The News, though he didn’t have all the details on Hampton’s injury as his team prepared for Opening Day. “I don’t know what the level of concern is for him coming back in a couple of weeks or if it’s longer than that.”

I guess better now than when we need him for a midsummer start…

MLB TradeRumors: LeMahieu to undergo second MRI:
Veteran infielder DJ LeMahieu began the 2024 campaign on the Yankees’ injured list after fouling a ball off his foot during Spring Training. While it once appeared likely that the injury would result in only a minimal absence, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic earlier this week reported that the swelling in LeMahieu’s foot had yet to go down. The club scheduled a second MRI for today in hopes of confirming the severity of the issue after the injury hadn’t improved as much as both player and club were hoping. It’s possible today’s testing will provide more clarity on the veteran’s timetable for return, but in the meantime New York figures to turn to Oswaldo Cabrera and newly-acquired utilityman Jon Berti at the hot corner in LeMahieu’s absence. The 35-year-old LeMahieu was roughly league average at the plate in a down season last year but has a strong .285/.358/.430 slash line since joining the Yankees prior to the 2019 season.

I looked at the Yankees schedule, if Cole pitches on June 1st, I estimate he will miss 12 starts including yesterday's game vs the Astros.

Greg Joyce: X-rays were negative on Gleyber Torres’ thumb, per Boone.
Juan Soto twisted his ankle on a base but appears to be OK.

I think the mistake was when the Steinbrenners went cheap and bought the MRI from DARPA. How many times do yankees go to an MRI with minor injuries, and then are lost for months or a year.
