I think it is amusing (or maybe bemusing) this thread is active after all these years. The title was defensive on my part since I figured an injury thread would not be welcome.

From MLB.com; Yankees Injury List: July 14, 2024
10-DAY/15-DAY INJURED LIST
DH Giancarlo Stanton (left hamstring strain) Expected return: After All-Star break Stanton is continuing to ramp up exercises, and though he won’t be ready for the first game out of the All-Star break on July 19, manager Aaron Boone said Stanton should be “really close at that point.” Stanton has been performing hitting and baserunning drills, according to Boone. Manager Boone said that the club has not decided if Stanton will go on a Minor League rehab assignment. Last year, Stanton played in just one Minor League rehab game before returning to face big league pitching. Since the Yankees would not need Stanton to play the field, he could prepare with high-tech devices like the Trajekt pitching machine.
Stanton resumed treadmill activities on June 27th and “did quite a bit of running” on July 9th, Boone said. Stanton sustained a left hamstring strain while running the bases on June 22nd against the Braves and underwent an MRI on June 23rd. He said he was told to expect a 4-week stint on the injured list, and he received a platelet-rich plasma injection on June 23rd. This marks Stanton’s 8th trip to the IL in the past 6 years. Last season, he missed 43 games with a left hamstring strain sustained in April. (Last updated: July 14th)
C Jose Trevino (left quad strain) Expected return: TBD Trevino injured his left quadriceps while running the bases on July 12th at Baltimore. He was placed on the 10-day injured list on July 13th and underwent an MRI to determine the severity of the strain. Trevino was scheduled to meet with team physician Dr. Christopher Ahmad on July 14th to discuss treatment options. (Last updated: July 14)
INF J.D. Davis (stomach flu) Expected return: After All-Star break Davis had been feeling ill for several days, according to Manager Aaron Boone, and he did not accompany the team on its flight to Baltimore after the July 9-11 series at Tropicana Field. He was placed on the IL on July 12th, retroactive to July 9th. Acquired in a trade with the A's in June, Davis has struggled since joining New York, with 1 hit in 13 at-bats. (Last updated: July 14th)
RHP Ian Hamilton (right lat strain) Expected return: Second half Hamilton resumed his throwing program during the week of July 7th, Manager Aaron Boone said. Hamilton last pitched in a game on June 16 at Boston. He dealt with a more minor version of the same injury earlier in the season. (Last updated: July 11th)
OF Jasson Domínguez (significant left oblique strain; No. 1 on Yankees top prospects list) Expected return: September Domínguez is at the Yankees’ complex in Tampa, Fla., but has been limited in his activities, manager Aaron Boone said on July 9, relaying that Domínguez’s workload is “not much of anything yet” and that he “still has got a ways to go there.” Domínguez performed light outfield work at the club’s player development complex on July 10th. Domínguez, the No. 25 prospect in baseball per MLB Pipeline, returned to the injured list after feeling a tweak near his left oblique on a checked swing while playing for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on June 15th. Tests revealed that the 21-year-old Domínguez has a significant strain in the oblique, Boone said on June 20th. Domínguez is expected to miss at least 8 weeks of action. (Last updated: July 10th)
RHP Clayton Beeter (right shoulder discomfort; No. 13 on Yankees top prospects list) Expected return: Possibly 2025 Beeter’s season is in jeopardy due to a right shoulder issue, General Manager Brian Cashman said on July 9th. Beeter is scheduled to see Dr. Keith Meister to determine the next steps in his treatment. Beeter last pitched for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on May 15th. (Last updated: July 9th)
RHP Cody Poteet (right triceps strain) Expected return: Possibly July Poteet has resumed his throwing program following a low-grade triceps strain that prompted him to be placed on the 15-day IL on June 18th. He last pitched on June 12th at Kansas City. Poteet has yet to toss from a mound, Manager Aaron Boone said on July 6th. (Last updated: July 6th)
60-DAY INJURED LIST
1B Anthony Rizzo (right forearm fracture) Expected return: Mid-August Rizzo remains largely restricted, other than some weight-room activities, as he recovers from the injury sustained on June 16th in Boston. At the time, it was estimated that Rizzo would miss 8 weeks; he was not expected to resume baseball activities for 4 to 5 weeks. Rizzo collided with Boston pitcher Brennan Bernardino while running through 1st base, tumbling beyond the bag and landing on his right arm. On July 12, Rizzo told the YES Network that he was “feeling good” and that the bone was healing. “It’s definitely progressed a lot. Still some pain, but that comes with a broken bone,” Rizzo said. “Definitely on the way to recovery and really excited to get back on the field and enjoy the game.” (Last updated: July 14)
RHP JT Brubaker (recovery from Tommy John surgery, oblique strain) Expected return: Possibly August Brubaker sustained an oblique injury while making a fielding play during his July 11th Minor League rehab start for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and has been shut down from baseball activities. The injury interrupts Brubaker’s recovery from Tommy John surgery performed on April 12, 2023. He was acquired from the Pirates on March 29th. (Last updated: July 14th)
RHP Lou Trivino (recovery from Tommy John surgery) Expected return: Summer 2024 Trivino has resumed throwing from a mound following a bout of right elbow inflammation that stalled his progress in April. He visited with the Yankees on July 11th at Tropicana Field. “Trivino is doing a lot better,” Manager Aaron Boone said. “I can see some energy as far as how he’s feeling and the fact that he’s on the mound.” At the time of the injury, Trivino was seen by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, as well as team doctors, who performed imaging and confirmed no damage to the pitcher’s ulnar collateral ligament. Trivino is recovering from Tommy John surgery performed on May 3, 2023. (Last updated: July 11th)
RHP Scott Effross (Tommy John surgery, back surgery) Expected return: After the All-Star break Effross had his Minor League rehab assignment transferred to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on June 26th. He had previously made 2 appearances with Single-A Tampa. “He’s trending in a good direction now, the last couple of months,” manager Aaron Boone said on July 11th. “I think it’s important for him to continue to have outings.”Boone said it is possible that Effross will return before the end of July. The Yankees will not necessarily wait until Effross pitches in back-to-back games before activating him. Effross is recovering from Tommy John surgery performed in October 2022, though he began experiencing back discomfort in autumn 2023, which prompted a Microdiscectomy of his L-4 and L-5 vertebrae in December. (Last updated: July 11th)
INF Jon Berti (left calf strain) Expected return: Possibly late July Berti has been hitting, throwing and running at approximately 95% as he moves closer to a Minor League rehab assignment, manager Aaron Boone said on July 11th. Berti will remain at the club’s Tampa, Fla., complex through the All-Star break, then could resume playing shortly thereafter. Berti, who was transferred to the 60-day IL on June 12th, was told to expect a recovery time of approximately 6 to 8 weeks after he was injured on May 24th as he ran toward 1st base. He was placed on the 10-day IL the following day and received a PRP injection on May 28th. (Last updated: July 11th)
RHP Nick Burdi (right hip inflammation) Expected return: After the All-Star break Burdi had a recent setback but is “doing much better, ramping back up,” manager Aaron Boone said on July 11th. Burdi is scheduled to toss from a mound at the Yankees’ complex in Tampa, Fla., on July 12th, Boone said. Burdi earlier received a platelet-rich plasma injection to treat a flareup of an issue that prompted an injured list assignment. He was placed on the 60-day IL on June 23 in a corresponding move to the Yankees' trade for J.D. Davis. (Last updated: July 11th)
RHP Clarke Schmidt (right lat strain) Expected return: Possibly August Schmidt tossed on June 28th at Yankee Stadium at a distance of 60 feet, having resumed his throwing program on June 24th. The right-hander underwent an MRI on May 29th after reporting difficulty bouncing back from a May 26th start at San Diego. He was seen by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on May 30th and Manager Aaron Boone said at the time that Schmidt would not throw for 4 to 6 weeks. Schmidt was placed on the 15-day injured list prior to the club’s May 30th game, retroactive to May 27th. He was transferred to the 60-day IL on June 18th. (Last updated: June 29th)
OF Everson Pereira (right UCL tear; No. 5 on the Yankees top prospects list) Expected return: 2025 Pereira underwent reconstructive Tommy John surgery with an internal brace in early June, Manager Aaron Boone said on June 14th. Pereira had been playing through the injury at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, last appearing for the RailRiders on May 14th. Boone said Pereira’s injury was “unfortunate,” but that similar to Jasson Domínguez, it is one the organization expects him to bounce back from. “This isn’t something that’s going to hurt his career too much," Boone said. "He should come back full strength from this.” (Last updated: June 15th)
RHP Jonathan Loáisiga (right UCL tear) Expected return: 2025 Loáisiga said on April 6 that he has a torn UCL and needs season-ending surgery. Dr. Keith Meister will perform the procedure, which Loáisiga said has an estimated recovery time of 10 to 12 months. Loáisiga was placed on the 60-day injured list on April 5th, retroactive to April 4th. (Last updated: April 6th)

As reported via NJ.com/sports: Trevino, who went on 10 IL with a left quad strain, received bad news on his MRI. His strain is a grade 2, which could take 2 to 3 months to heal. Best case scenario, he will return sometime in September. You got to wonder with Narvaez having no big-league experience, will Yankees be exploring a trade the weeks ahead.

That's a really interesting question Lauren. I think since they have 5 catchers on the 40 man they will probably roll with what they have unless one of those catchers is part of a deal for a veteran. Regardless, we should see alot of Wells.

Would they be interested in one of our young catching prospects in return for the UFA? I am not familiar with his work as I tend to focus on AL baseball. Can he control a running game ?
