I think the players will get paid, but... "On Thursday, when Manfred announced that the 2020 season would be delayed, the first sentence of his statement included the phrase, “national emergency.” A clause in every major league player’s contract — and also included in the sport’s collective-bargaining agreement — gives the commissioner the right “to suspend the operation of this contract during any national emergency during which Major League Baseball is not played.” If Trump had not acted, the union might have argued that Manfred could not invoke a national emergency on his own." sports.yahoo.com/donald-trump-declaring-a-national-emergency-due-to-coronavirus-may-prevent-mlb-players-from-getting-paid-155823331.html

I’d rather see the minor leaguers paid if anyone. Maybe all of the owners and all of the players can apply for the hardship $1,000 checks that have been proposed...

If I could be paid the MLB minimum salary for one season, I would consider myself to be wealthy at the end of that year...

West Virginia has the fewest diagnosed cases of COVID-19 in the USA. That’s proof positive that you can’t catch this from your cousin...

No one knows how many cases there are. There is no testing.

Come on, Russ, it wasn’t that bad of a joke. Not Inger’s best, like the coming across the desk one, but not horrible either.

It’s okay because I have grandchildren in West Virginia...and a step son...And yes, they are very West-Virginia-like.
He (my step son) is about 350 pounds
She (his girl friend) at LEAST 350 pounds
Her daughter (now claimed as my grand daughter) about 260 pounds age 20
Their son. (Grandson, sort of) Still slender, age six, growing boy.
Have a male neighbor that likes to sit out on the back porch (which faces their home) naked. Cops say he has a right as long as he doesn’t do anything lewd. He came out into the yard jerking his gherkin one day while my sort of daughter in law was mowing the yard. Guess he likes ‘em chubby. Cops said they’d have to have proof. Got pictures, lady? No. Good bye.
We went to visit once. Were told we couldn’t flush toilet paper. Ugh! No more visits...

Comedy gold! Ahem. Ruthie’s relatives, actually. I have no idea how her son got to be such a big ‘un. He looks like he could crush anyone in sight, but he’s very quiet and mild-mannered. But, yes. They are a hoot. A hoot in the hollers of W. Virginia...
