Just read this on another site: “Anybody wanna know the name of the company that the CDC (department under direct control of the presIdent) awarded the contract to for covid19 test kits?
Oscar Health, a company owned by the Kushners. Though Jared’s name was on the company as co-owner, with his brother Joshua, both have now been removed.
All the while, the US refused test kits from the WHO (World Health Organization).”
Meanwhile, my niece has been home this week with fever and has been refused testing for C19 because of her age and no preexisting conditions, even though she works for and is employed by the hospital.

You will probably get a thousand dollars soon. Not sure if that really helps (its a lot of money to me). It will certainly be welcome. At least I’m not spending excessively on gasoline and stationary. As the income has stopped, so have the expenses. I usually drive about 20,000 miles per year for work, plus maybe 5-6,000 for personal. Then, being at home I can eat here instead of eating out. There are a few positives...

I thought of several gallows humor jokes, but then decided to pass on them.
If the projections of it killing a million people in the US are correct then many things will change in the US.

I had missed the final paragraph of this the first time I read it. I’m not sure how, perhaps distracted by something. I hope your niece is okay. I have a nephew who is a nurse, and my grand daughter is a checkout girl at Wal-Mart as she works to become a nurse. A customer threw two containers of wipes at her a couple of days ago because she enforced a company-imposed limit of two. The folks on the front lines are getting hell...Just like any other war... I hope your niece is all right...

INGER: UPDATE to Baja/Mexico Situation...
Our President (The Rooster = His Nickname) stated:
"“Pandemics ... won’t do anything to us,” he said on Monday while accusing the media and his political opponents of exaggerating the threat.
He has declined to close his borders or ban travel from afflicted countries and has brazenly ignored recommendations from his own deputy health minister that Mexicans refrain from greeting each other with a customary hug and kiss.
At a large rally over the weekend, López Obrador waded proudly into the crowd, kissing children and embracing supporters.
He has made a show of waving off offerings of anti-bacterial gel. And on Wednesday, before appearing at another large event, he showcased a collection of good-luck charms that he carries with him, including Catholic scapulars and a U.S. 2-dollar bill.
PLUS:
HERE IN NOWHERE:
Not a word of the Plan for the Virus by the Local Govt. = AMAZINGLY STUPID!!! We only have about a Total of 30 Hospitals and maybe 1-2 Ventilators (at best). Our population is around 14,000 = DO THE MATH.
WE ARE FUCKED.
Tequila says, "Speak for yourself."

Dome, I sorry to read that the Mexican Govt. is being so cavalier about the virus. Let’s hope that somehow, some way the virus itself weakens...

Hope your niece is doing alright man!!!
Inger... I had the same thing pretty much happen to me man. We found a box of hand sanitizer, and since we're a dollar store, we can't price gouge... they know everything's a dollar, so we limited quantities to one... and some old lady got PISSED!... and freaked out on me... I told her if I had it my way, she could buy as many as she wanted, but I would charge her 8 bucks a piece.. she didn't like that.. I also had two people thank me for my service, I was like "no I'm not and never was in the military" they were like "no, for coming to work" I was like "no, I get paid to be here, I'm not volunteering" (I'm not an idiot, I knew what they meant by this point, I was just trying to be funny) Weird times we live in though... Side note: I think I made it to the second interview portion of a job I interviewed for Thursday. I was supposed to get a call between 9-12 today and it never came so I got really discouraged and emailed the lady... she told me her bosses didn't come to work today, so hopefully on Monday she will get back to me.. FINGERS CROSSED.

I’m going to have to check that out...

Thanks everyone. As of today, she’s been quarantined for two weeks. Still will not be tested for the virus, as there are not enough for everyone who needs them. Why the hell would we refuse test kits from the World Health Organization weeks ago? I have two other nieces who are nurses, so concerned about them.

I’m thinking more and more that this is a conspiracy-enacted virus targeting wiping out a portion of the oldest and weakest of the population. This is the kind of stuff that used to be science fiction...

We never REFUSED tests from the WHO... That's a rumor... even according to left leaning Snopes...
What's True The U.S. did not use COVID-19 diagnostic tests produced by the World Health Organization (WHO) in favor of producing its own.
What's False The U.S. did not turn down an offer to use those tests (as no such offer was extended), nor was it unusual for the United States to design and produce its own diagnostic tests in lieu of those made elsewhere.
