I googled it because I thought it would be stupid to turn down the tests, so there must've been a good reason, and I wanted to know the reason... There was no reason... because it never happened...

We never REFUSED tests from the WHO... That's a rumor... even according to left leaning Snopes... What's True The U.S. did not use COVID-19 diagnostic tests produced by the World Health Organization (WHO) in favor of producing its own. What's False The U.S. did not turn down an offer to use those tests (as no such offer was extended), nor was it unusual for the United States to design and produce its own diagnostic tests in lieu of those made elsewhere. Keep fishing, Sierchio, you’re bound to catch something. In a pandemic, what would be the purpose to not utilize available testing kits? What are the negative results of that decision? Which private companies shall benefit financially from producing these kits - too few and too late for some people and their families?

I checked your googled sites, and you neglected the following: “The traditional U.S. strategy for devising new diagnostic tests starts with the CDC. That is supposed to ensure new tests are accurate and reliable, but it also meant that other parallel approaches were not aggressively pursued.” “In an interview with CNN on March 12, 2020, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, stated that it would have been “nice to have” the WHO tests as a back-up to the CDC’s tests, but characterized it as a case of hindsight being 20/20.” ...or, that we did not believe this was a real crisis for some reason.

There was definitely a failure to produce those kits ahead of the coming health issue. Someone dropped the ball along the way. Trump? Maybe. Even probably...But, this is where we are. Efforts must now be redoubled. This test doesn’t come with an eraser. I have no idea who is supposed to be making the test kits, or what kind of materials or tooling is required. What a mess. Everybody stay home! Hurry, make some test kits! If only we could make them at home quickly an efficiently. Somebody better be working their ads off on them...And the people on the front lines must be top priority...

I thought myself that squalid, densely populated China would be a veritable breeding ground for this disease. I’m sure it is. Probably more conducive to the spread of disease than our society should be. The rate of contagion seems to be extremely high for this one, probably more so than known in the world since vaccines and modern medicine have emerged. I admit that it’s caught me off guard. It’s much more serious than I thought it would be. This is the way the world used to be. Polio, TB, bubonic plague, so many highly contagious diseases have come before. We just started to feel invincible...

We just started to feel invincible... The WHO provided 1.5 million test kits to 120 countries. Why was the United States not one of them? Do you believe the WHO would not have provided them to the US? Why wouldn’t the US obtain even 100,000 tests until manufacturing their own? Many of the infected could have been identified and quarantined weeks ago.

The US CDC thought they had their own tests, but they were defective. Without question the big failures of this administration are the failure to have tests available early enough when other less well resourced but more competently led countries did, and the behavior of leadership that mocked this pandemic as a liberal hoax while people were getting sick. Everything is a joke with this administration. The joke is on us.

Perhaps, if we still had the office that deals with pandemics:
“President Trump .....attacked the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a federal agency he oversees, over the slow federal response to the coronavirus outbreak, and he attempted to lay blame for the lack of testing on his predecessors despite having disbanded a White House office focused on pandemic preparedness.”

SADLY this Virus Pandemic is ABOUT to get worse if that is possible:
--When it hits Third World Countries; especially those that are very poor or involved in a conflict
--The Homeless in America = it will be like A Pandemic Firestorm
--The ICE Detention Centers = See Above
--When the Virus hits neighborhoods where the majority of those folks are very poor and living in poverty.
--Florida with all of its Old and Ill Folks.
--India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Hati, etc. well, you all get the picture...
Hopefully the WORLD would have slowed/stop this Pandemic (I doubt it); if not, there is a good chance we will have Devastating Deadly Climate Events this Summer along with the Pandemic = It will overwhelm us in just about all industries, etc.
And China is preparing for a Second Wave of the Virus...
I am now sure there will be NO BASEBALL this year.
