This is just pure greed, the owners want to recover as much as the TV & radio rights money that they can and I'm sure the players want paid. Who cares how idiotic it look, playing an entire season without fans? I think most of us fans can find something else to do this summer.

Do you think they should play this year? I know we could all use the distraction, but is it worth the risk? Honestly if I had to make the call right now, I would say no, its not worth it.
I'm glad I'm not the one who has to make the call though.
I’d love to be able to be the guy that called it off. “And going forward we will be eliminating predetermined condiments on food at the stadiums. You may have it your way”...

Bursting the Bubble: Why Sports Aren't Coming Back Soon
The NBA, NFL and MLB are dreaming up ways to play amid a pandemic, with talk of isolating players in Arizona or Las Vegas or maybe on the moon. It all sounds great, until you talk to people who actually know science.

Are these the same experts on science who recently claimed that 100,000 to 200,000 Americans were going to die from this virus?

One day you can all regale your grandchildren of a time when people used to run and jump and catch and throw, and they’ll say “Why, grandpa? Why did they do that”?...

Where, oh where Has the revenue gone Oh where, oh where Could it be?... So, the stadiums themselves are no longer profitable, unless you believe that the average fan might fork over in excess of $1000 for a socially distanced seat in the bleachers. Maybe they can start charging $75 for a hot dog. $10 admission to enter the rest rooms? Those TV contracts might become the best deal by far, unless the ratings drop. Then, do they raise the rates to make up for that lost revenue? And it viewership falls, who will pay to advertise? How much will they pay? If the economy takes a dump, will pro sports survive? There is going to be a time of reckoning when this is over, and the way it ends, if it ends is going to be the oddest time perhaps in human history. Mass hysteria brings mass change. It’s going to be interesting, that’s for certain...
