If we're still doing one-hit wonders, a few more rattling around in my brain.
"Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas. Those cats were fast as lightning. You know it was a little bit frightening. For they fought with expert timing. "Doctor's Orders" by Carol Douglas. No relation to Carl. "Angel Of The Morning" by Merrilee Rush. Long before Juice Newton's version. "Magnet and Steel" by Walter Egan. "Shannon" by Henry Gross. Although he was earlier a member of Sha-Na-Na. "Shame Shame" by The Magic Lanterns. "Thunder And Lightning" by Chi Coltrane. "Don't Say You Don't Remember" by Beverly Bremers. "Tragedy" by ArcAngel. Another early MTV video. "I Can Help" by Billy Swan. Great roller skating song. "In The Summertime" by Mungo Jerry. Have a drink have a drive, go out and see what you can find. "Please Come To Boston" by Dave Loggins. I detest this song. "Beach Baby" by The First Class. I detest this one even more. "Precious And Few" by Climax. These guys evolved from the 60s group The Outsiders, which had several hits including "Time Won't Let Me" and "Respectable." And two more that I really did like, both made the top 40, and I hope somebody remembers them: "Double Barrell" by Dave and Ansill Collins. Jamaican duo, great song. "Go Back" by Crabby Appleton. Should have been number one, had to settle for 36.

This may have been discussed somewhere in the past on this thread, but Beach Baby, Gimme Dat Ding by the Pipkins, My Baby Loves Lovin' by White Plains, United We Stand by Brotherhood of Man and Love Grows Where Rosemary Goes by Edison Lighthouse were all one hit wonders in their own right--except for one thing. They all had the same lead singer--a guy named Tony Burroughs. So, Tony Burroughs was a one hit wonder 5 times over.

"Precious And Few" by Climax. These guys evolved from the 60s group The Outsiders, which had several hits including "Time Won't Let Me" and "Respectable." Speaking of covers, Smithereens did an excellent cover of "Time Won't Let Me". www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQjbXdQZTt0Pat DiNizio and the rest of the band were huge Beatles fans. They did many excellent Beatles covers, even released albums of all Beatles songs.

Don't know "Paul Collins Beat" or "The Cretones", but I'll check 'em out. I was a huge Byrds fan (pre-Gram Parsons) and, of course, Marshall Crenshaw did the Buddy Holly thing. I saw "Gin Blossoms" at Fiddler's Green (Denver), but was pizzed that I had to pay to see a self-indulgent Neil Young in order to do so. And I like Neil...a lot. If you do decide to check them out, a good sample of Paul Collins Beat would be "That's What Life Is All About." A good Cretones sample would be "A Real Love." Linda Ronstadt covered a bunch of Cretones' songs -- of course she covered everybody's songs -- but it did help throw a little attention their way. I'll do it....

I'm more of a pre-Parsons Byrds guy too. My favorite album from them was 1966's "Fifth Dimension", but really I liked all of those albums with the classic lineup. They were great and I regret never seeing them play live. I liked all their Dylan interpretations but especially "My Back Pages." We seem to have very similar tastes..."My Back Pages" is my 2nd favorite Byrds song, after "Turn, Turn, Turn". Don't know if you've seen this.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGEIMCWob3U

Listen to Exile on Main Street by the Stones, then put on Arthur by the Kinks. If it’s a longer flight, just repeat. God save the Kinks.✌️

Not sure it was the right key for Neil, but still... As the first comment on there noted, how cool that George got the last verse. I think the happiest I ever saw him look in concert was when he and Dave Edmunds were backing Carl Perkins doing the rockabilly hits. I'm having trouble doing links or I'd put it up here. Also cool to see GE Smith who always looks like he's enjoying himself. And the great Steve Cropper. That guy has so many interesting stories but is so humble, like he can't believe he's part of it.
