Just read that the 2024 Rock Hall nominees were announced and they are Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Eric B. & Rakim, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Jane’s Addiction, Kool & The Gang, Lenny Kravitz, Oasis, Sinead O’Connor, Ozzy Osbourne, Sade, and A Tribe Called Quest. Now I am an approaching 60 classic rock guy. So with that disclaimer, in my opinion the only ones who should be considered Rock and Roll HoF are Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & The Gang, and Ozzy Osbourne. Thoughts?? I think that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is seriously losing its touch with all these pop musicians being added, who don't really perform in rock music mode. Dolly Parton put it honestly with her remark, I don't perform rock music. |

Hey...I'm not one to diss cover or tribute bands. One of the most enjoyable concerts I ever attended was Beatles tribute "1964" at Red Rocks...a recreation of The Beatles '64 show there. Actually, is there really any difference between an Australian Pink Floyd show and the original, other than the personnel? |

Last month, I recently saw a Foreigner 50th Anniversary concert on PBS-TV, everyone was there including Lou Graham. Clipper |

Kool & Gang in the Hall of Fame, it's a shame that most of the original band members have passed away, the band's co-founder and drummer had died in November, 2023. They were another great R&B band from New Jersey.

Looks like a beautiful place to see a show. It's a great venue...a natural amphitheater; great acoustics. Lived about 5 miles from it, which was great other than the times Deadheads swarmed the area. |
