Don't tell me The Archies weren't legit. Andy Kim who wrote Sugar, Sugar was legit, although don'tknow if he played on the song. Had one other hit a few years later--Rock Me Gently? Andy Kim had a few other hits like his cover of The Ronettes "Baby I Love You" and also "How'd We Ever Get This Way." Ron Dante, who was the voice behind The Archies, was also lead singer for yet another contrived band The Cuff-Links. They had a hit in 1970 with "Tracy." |
