I know Sierchio used to front a band, but I’m concerned about style there... I think I have the chops to sing. Just put me in an acoustic chamber (shower, large washtub, etc.$). I have complete faith in Renfield on guitar, Maybe Rizz on the banjo and perhaps a steel guitar. Dome has a lot of wind, so we can have sax. I’ll open the mic whenever we can let Sierch do back up vocals without being sued. DeSousa can help us package the whole show together and do anything he wants, since he happens to know what he’s doing. I have been know you rip a great chord on the harpsichord in fifth grade if that’s any help, but I sucked at the flute-o-phone...We need a flute-o-phonist, don’t we?... I’m counting on Pipps getting back to approve the album... I can play a little rhythm guitar and ukulele. Never had a banjo or steel guitar. Though I do need to learn how to play with steel finger picks.
I'd love to hear you play the ukulele!

I might not mind hearing Sierchio’s “Tiptoe Through The Tulips”, or “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”... I thought I remembered you saying you were a bit of a picking man...

It's, um, it's um, um, uh...There's really nothing quite like it.

It's, um, it's um, um, uh...There's really nothing quite like it. Since I had never heard Mr. Tim perform that number, I decided to find it on You Tube and give it a listen. I paused momentarily while deciding whether to hit “unmute”. The best thing about it was that it was only 1:49 long. I’m thinking. Did people that bought his music, really like it? Or were all those records bought as joke gifts? Simple novelties to give their friends a laugh? Even then, doesn’t “Santa Clause Has Got The AIDS”, kind of come off as a bummer? I assume he got quite wealthy off his TV appearances and records. It’s quite amazing...

Now that you're initiated to Tiny Tim, you need to hear his version of "Stairway to Heaven." Non-falsetto, lounge lizard-ish. Makes you question the adage that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." Tiny Tim was an interesting character. Was like a walking encyclopedia of music history and trivia. I also have his Christmas album and pull it out every year. Scarily, some of the songs actually kind of work--Rudolph and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus come to mind. Then there's the aforementioned Oh Holy Night which is in a category all its own.

One of my favorite live performers, Jerry Jeff Walker died yesterday at age 78. My understanding is that his previous throat cancer returned. He was one of a kind. RIP

RIP Always a bummer to lose our favorite musicians. As much as we celebrate what they left behind, we also mourn for what still may have been trapped within the mind that never got out. They leave us young, they leave us old. Sometimes they’re still living when they stop making music... Either way, it hurts to lose them...

The last concert my wife and I saw together was Jerry Jeff Walker in 2018 at Poor David’s Pub in Dallas, Texas. She loved live music. Jerry Jeff played much like you see him here, seated and relaxed, full of mirth and good cheer, like he was with friends in the back yard.
Little bird come and sat upon my window sill Sat there through the pourin' rain As I watched that little bird upon my window sill I saw my thoughts of you go by again
And a picture of my face reflected on the pane Is it tears or is it rain?
I remember how we talked before we said goodbye Too young to notice the world outside our door And how we laughed and said our love was free Like birds that fly the winds Well the rainy day made me think of you once more
I have no regrets about the past I see how young we were When our world was love and life was but a thought Many things go many ways and many times but once Our lives have passed and that love is but a thought
So as the thoughts go tumblin' back I wonder how you loved Wonder if you've seen that little bird I wonder if he's sat upon your window sill I wonder if you'll ever hear these words
