It appears the Big Ten will be the first Power Five conference to cancel football this fall.

Big Ten and Pac 12 will likely opt out. I think the SEC and Big12 will play. I have no idea what the ACC will do. I think Saban is right. The players are in no danger from playing football. They are in danger from living on campus.
But I have doubts they could play football in college without crowds. Given student habits I am not sure football is going to change much one way or the other.

College players now taking the petition route to attempt to force colleges to play... Geez, the Big Ten and Pac Ten consider the player's heath over money (or they thought of all those potential law suites), and the players are rebelling. These young guys don't want to hear about any virus, they want to play football.

I don’t think they can force the colleges to take on the potential issues.

Athletes don't tell the universities what to do Not typically, but there is a petition circulating... which means exactly zero. One thing missed is if players get sick if they play, and they will the university and the coaching staff would get sued

The only one that missed it was... uh-oh... you! 😂

The television ratings and revenue will be huge for a football-starved nation. The losers are the conference universities that "could not" find a way to play and for their home communities. The loss of revenue for the latter is a tragedy for many people.

The loss of revenue for the latter is a tragedy for many people. It's seems like certain parts of this country are more concerned with teenagers playing football than getting rid of this pandemic that's lingering over us.
