Oh my, oh my, oh my! LSU Tigers mount a fourth quarter comeback to beat Ole Miss 53-48 to finish the season 5-5. Their true freshman WR Kayshon Boutte had 308 yards receiving (SEC Record) and 3 touchdowns from true freshman QB Max Johnson, who threw for 435 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception in the end zone, and ran for 45 yards and 2 touchdowns. Both of these defenses are problematic, but LSU forced 5 interceptions and a fumble on Ole Miss’s last drive. Six turnovers and you only win by five at home. Definitely a COVID-19 football season! Yikes! Worst LSU team defense that I can remember. Historically bad defense. At least they got a win to finish the season! Absolutely! My bellybutton has been puckering and unpuckering ever since (stolen line from MASH)!

Alabama’s offensive line is just bigger and better than everybody else.

Alabama’s offensive line is just bigger and better than everybody else. The skill players aren't so bad either. Just have them and Clemson meet in the title game and forget the semifinal games.

Oh well, another good Gator season, but not a great one. Tide just too much. I'm hoping for a new defensive coordinator for next season.

Oh well, another good Gator season, but not a great one. Tide just too much. I'm hoping for a new defensive coordinator for next season. That is the refrain of most LSU faithful, too. Week after week, Tiger fans have heaped so much cruel and bitter criticism on Bo Pellini, stopping just short of burning him in effigy. They want to see him fired immediately, no matter what the cost contractually. LSU opposition scored a whopping 34.9 points per game, surrendering 7.26 yards per play and 492 yards per game! Only Ole Miss was ranked lower overall in the SEC defensively. For me, LSU just had too many opt outs due to CV19, too many injuries, too many freshman and sophomores, too many losses to the NFL, and too little practice time due to CV19 to install a new defense (4-3 from a 3-4) under a new coordinator with a roster just above the minimum requirement for scholarships. A perfect storm of externalities leading to a historically poor defense. And, Pellini may not have been the right personality to shoulder all those impediments with a young, inexperienced group. I will not be surprised if a change is made or if a pass is given for this season.

Alabama is the best team in the country and they gave up 46 points yesterday to Florida.

You're right chi. With the way the offenses are set up, it's hard to play defense. I felt bad for my knee jerk reaction and calling for Todd Grantham's firing, I just wish his defense looked more prepared and not so confused. Florida's defense seem to always look better in the second half.

Florida's defense seem to always look better in the second half. That reminds me of Penn State, they got off to bad starts all season long. This past weekend they gave up 21 points in the first qtr to a depleted Illinois squad that only had about half their team available. After that, they shut them out for the rest of the game. And fans have been calling for their defensive coordinator to be fired too. It's just part of the business.

I was thinking of watching the Florida - Oklahoma game, but then discovered that Pitts and Toney, the Gators’ All-American tight end and leading receiver are opting out of the game. While I understand the logic of not endangering two guaranteed high draft picks, it’s saddening nonetheless.

Those missing pass catchers aren't helping Trask, as he's thrown 3 interceptions in the 1st qtr.

You could tell Oklahoma was using this game and the Big 12 title game to make up for a disappointing regular season while Florida didn't have much left after their battle with Bama.
