I wouldn't give up Schmidt, I'm really high on him and I think he could be pitching in the majors right now. I wonder if the M's would have interest in Andujar & Florial for Gonzalez? That's some good talent for a guy whose ceiling is a #4 starter. Yea I don't want to give up Schmidt either. I'd do Andujar, Ford, and Florial. Though, is that the new Melky, Igawa, and IPK? Other than Florial, you’r offering cast offs for whom we have no room. Andujar’s value is basically back to that of a prospect until he starts to hit again. Ford hasn’t had much opportunity this year. And Florial. So close to turning a corner. So teasing with those skills... but no one knows what this season could have been. I don’t see this as an attractive offer. It might be a decent starting conversation, but that won’t get it done.

Andujar is a viable trade piece, but a risky trade for any GM acquiring him. I think he would not bring much in return, unless the GM remembers his rookie year and the slashing hitter he was then. Given the fragility of other outfielders on the roster, I hope Frazier does not get moved. Thinking that the NL will adopt the DH next season, Mike Ford might be an attractive piece for some club. Mike plays a decent first base as well. I don't know much about Marco Gonzalez, but if he is good, it would probably have to be sweetened with a good prospect or two from the Yankees. I am not good at this, but would Andujar, Ford, Clarke Schmidt and Florial bring back a guy like Gonzalez? Is that too much? I wouldn't give up Schmidt, I'm really high on him and I think he could be pitching in the majors right now. I wonder if the M's would have interest in Andujar & Florial for Gonzalez? That's some good talent for a guy whose ceiling is a #4 starter. The past two seasons Gonzalez has put up 4.00 and 3.99 ERAs. I’d say he’s already above that #4 ceiling, especially with over 200 innings last year...

I'm just not that big on Gonzalez. He gives up more hits than innings pitched and doesn't have strike out stuff, not a great combination for pitching at Yankee Stadium (or Fenway & Camden Yards) as opposed to Safeco Field. It's just different pitching in the AL East, as we have seen with the failures of many of these pitchers Cashman has traded for.

Can’t say I’m in love with him either, but the discussion was about what we should give for him. The bigger question is always what would they want? Personally, I’d just hold with what we have. Give these kids opportunities. Mix it up...

Florial is still in the system!?!?!?! It feels like I haven't heard of him in years...
Inger- I think Frazier is matured... I think we can drop the whole "maturity issues" Especially the way the front office has fucked w/ him in the past 2 years, and he's been a good sport about it... I'd keep the Frazier... unless the trade was for a GOOD pitcher, not a ??Pitcher??
I'd also keep Schmidt.. I'd like to see him pitch for the Yankees THIS season...

Reminds me of when George wanted to trade a young Mo Rivera for Felix Fermin.

I see Seattle and San Diego are playing Tuesday, with the pitching matchup being Gonzalez against Pollock. It will be a late game, so we might be able to see the Yankees and then a bit of what Seattle has. I don't know much about the Mariners except they have a very good outfielder named Kyle Long, I think. It will be interesting to see Gonzalez.

It took some hard lessons... but it is still a part of history. His history, his present, and projections for his future will determine what a GM views as his value. Yes. We could drop the issue, but that’s not realistic when speaking about his trade value...

Would you guys give up the farm for Clevinger? It would probably take Jasson Dominguez and Clarke Schimdt for starters.

I won’t give up those pieces without the Indians sending me a pretty women. Not Julia Roberts, either. She’s over rated... this
