Believe it or not, the 2020 Trade deadline is coming up soon on Monday August 31st at 4pm.
Now trades may be challenging in this environment as with 16 teams making the playoffs there will be less teams who think they are out of it. There is also the danger of a traded player opting out. But that won't stop the speculation!
Clearly we could use some starting pitching help, a reliever or two, and maybe some infield depth. We can use this thread for all rumors and ideas.

The Athletic’s Jim Bowden says the Yankees should target the following southpaws: Texas Rangers’ Mike Minor, Miami Marlins’ Caleb Smith, Arizona Diamondbacks’ Robbie Ray and Baltimore Orioles’ John Means.

I'd be willing to trade Andujar. Seems like there is no room for him even with all the injuries.

Three of those guys are pitching horribly and Smith has only thrown 3 innings.

I was searching for articles on trade deadline targets and the quality of the articles right now are so bad for some reason from places like Yanksgoyard and Pinstriple Alley.

Gonzalez is a good pitcher and he stays healthy, but that's a lot to give up.

Andujar is a viable trade piece, but a risky trade for any GM acquiring him. I think he would not bring much in return, unless the GM remembers his rookie year and the slashing hitter he was then. Given the fragility of other outfielders on the roster, I hope Frazier does not get moved. Thinking that the NL will adopt the DH next season, Mike Ford might be an attractive piece for some club. Mike plays a decent first base as well. I don't know much about Marco Gonzalez, but if he is good, it would probably have to be sweetened with a good prospect or two from the Yankees. I am not good at this, but would Andujar, Ford, Clarke Schmidt and Florial bring back a guy like Gonzalez? Is that too much?

I wouldn't give up Frazier and Loaisiga for Gonzalez at this point, especially with Stanton hurt all the time.

Gonzalez is a good pitcher and he stays healthy, but that's a lot to give up. Frazier and Loasiga is not a huge give. Frazier has had a poor record for staying on the field, has had maturity issues that he may finally be getting a grip on, has suffered a psychological issue in the field and arrived with an ego that allowed him to think he was already a great player. He’s still largely unproven for all of those reasons. Loasiga has also been held back by injuries that have made it unlikely he’ll become a starter, and he too, is somewhat unproven. I would dare to say Seattle would ask for more, and would prefer youth over another MLB borderline player. Likely a young starter on the verge of MLB, and those we have aplenty. Question is, which one?

I'm not an authority by any means on trades but that sounds like what they would want for Gonzalez. Maybe we could get away with not offering Florial, only the other three. I probably wouldn't want to give up that much for Gonzalez though.

Just thought of this nugget:
In recent times the Yankees have added two starters with Seattle backgrounds to the staff. Michael Pineda and James Paxton. Getting another seems scary...or maybe the law of averages would catch up and Gonzalez would be a gem...

I wouldn't give up Schmidt, I'm really high on him and I think he could be pitching in the majors right now. I wonder if the M's would have interest in Andujar & Florial for Gonzalez? That's some good talent for a guy whose ceiling is a #4 starter.
