Chapman has been suspended three games. I imagine he will appeal. That makes no sense. After that crazy Joe Kelly suspension, the MLB almost had to suspend Chapman.

Responded to the wrong post. I doubt Tanaka hit the batter intentionally. Maybe I am missing something but what would be his motivation?

Just in retaliation to all the high inside pitches to our guys. He went inside on the previous pitch. And then nailed Wendle with a 95 mph fastball (it wasn't an offspeed pitch, Rizz). I have my doubts whether it was intentional. The Rays were convinced it was.

I don't know if Chapman's pitch was intentional or not, I doubt it was. The Yankees don't need this crap, it's really a no win situation for them against the new media darling Rays. If Chapman wanted to kill or maim someone, I’m sure he could do it in dozens of ways without a baseball...

Anyone have the pitch video to post here?

I am sticking to my guns, and not trying to irritate anyone here. Chapman's words were absolutely honest. He was not trying to hit anyone. He was trying to buzz them. Really, if he had wanted to hit someone he would have hit them. Tanaka hit what he was aiming for. He did it with 2 out and no one on. He did it in retaliation for the Tampa pitchers buzzing the Yankees in the last series. It's OK that we did not see it the same way. regards to all.

You’re the best Kay! What a great video! That guy does a great job deciphering the comments. After watching, I agree Tanaka’s HBP was probably intentional. I still have strong reservations about Chapman, as he is often wild and up. Mostly, the situation - bringing the tying run to the plate - just doesn’t ring true for an important game with the division leader.

Wouldn’t argue with you a bit Ernesto. Two outs and nobody on early in the game is the ideal time to hit someone(never in the head).

I think Chapman is just wild. Which is actually scarier than trying to hit someone.
