Sure, this is just an empirical take, but these players are youngish men, in good health and condition. Their total "work day" consists of 4-6 hours, part of which they are resting. It is incredible that these men need "days off" beyond the scheduled days off in order to rest. And. again, if that worked in reducing injuries, it would be a different thing. It's not working. To hold all the players to same philosophy and standard is wrong, since players will vary on how much rest they really need. Some guys can play almost every day and some do need more time off. The organization should be more flexible. |

That's Cessa's Yankee career in a nutshell. He strikes out the first guy and has a chance to get out of a huge jam but can't finish if off and ends up walking in a run.
