I think what's annoying is having the 10 streak I thought the Yankees were clear of the 7 and 8 seeds, but theres still an outside chance they aren't if the don't win today.
If win today:
Can't fall below the 5 seed Blue Jays can't catch Yankees
If lose today:
Yankees finish with a division record of 23-17 Blue Jays have a division record of 20-17 with 3 left vs the Orioles in Buffalo Yankees would be 12-8 in their last 20 division games. Blue Jays would be 12-8 if they swept the Orioles. So it would then go to the 21st game which for the Blue Jays was a win for the them vs the Orioles and for the Yankees a loss to the rays so the Blue Jays would get that Tiebreaker This would require the Yankees to win 2 of 3 vs the Marlins to avoid 27 losses and finish ahead of the Blue Jays or for the Blue Jays to lose 1 game vs the Orioles and the Yankees win 1 vs the Marlins.
Bottom line just win today lol.

Yea I am not saying the Yankees can't win 2 of 3 versus the Marlins, but a win today makes that series meaningless as their chances of getting the 4 at this moment are extremely low so securing the 5 and getting some rest in is probably the path they prefer. I figured they would split the series with the Jays but I thought they would win the Cole and Tanaka games. So hopefully its still a split.

If we lose 2 of three against the Marlins we are probably not going far anyhow.

If we lose 2 of three against the Marlins we are probably not going far anyhow. Do you realize the Marlins are a playoff team that has a lot more to play for this weekend than the Yankees? Plus, The Yanks are going to be starting bullpen guys on Saturday & Sunday.

They better re-sign him!
WE should not go after Tank for any more years --let him go.
WE also need to cut the Cord with Paxton Happ & PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TRADE Sanchez.
OUR Starting pitchers for 2021 can be chosen from the list below:
Cole Sev German Garica Montgomery Loaisiga
King Cessa Abreu etc.
IN ADDITION:
Gardner needs to hang up his cleats.
We should see what Hicks could get us on the open Market & the same with Chapman--dangle them as bait = see what bites.
There is MUCH more = but, I will wait until after the Play-Offs

Agree with everything you said above dome. Hopefully Sevy can come back. We need him. I would give Tanaka a gold watch and thank him for his service. I'd take a handful of magic beans for Sanchez. It wouldn't take much to pry Hicks away either. This is the third year in a row he hasn't hit a lick. The only things that concerns me though about trading him is I don't think we would get much for him AND with the injuries we have had(including Hicks) our outfield could be painfully thin. It will be a challenge to win a World Series with our roster as it is. Not enough starting pitching depth and too much swinging and missing. I hope I am proven wrong.

You guys are putting a lot of stock into Sevy and Sunday coming back strong after their injury... I'd sign Tanaka to a 2 year deal w/ a team option for 3rd and 4th years... Tanaka-son isn't that old

Re-sign all pitchers for one year only. Be prepared to dump sludge as the season plays out...
