Like most power hitters, Judge could erupt at any moment, or he could continue to struggle at the plate. As usual you are making a mountain out of a small sample... As is often the case in analysis we only have a sample to work from. Most analyst use what they have. Once N >= 30 the central limit kicks in Which in baseball is called a small sample. More often than not the career trend is more reliable...

I don't agree. Baseball is not trend stationary. There is no reverting to the mean. You analyze the most recent window. Just because Randy Johnson was a great pitcher before he came to the Yankees did not mean he would be afterward. Analyzing his career caused them to make exactly the mistake you suggest inger.

Just because Randy Johnson was a great pitcher before he came to the Yankees did not mean he would be afterward. Analyzing his career caused them to make exactly the mistake you suggest inger. I think they knew Johnson was no longer an ACE. The point is that you can’t assume Judge to be a powerless wimp just a few games after a return from injury that occurred after a start to the season that showed he was hitting for power exceptionally well just a couple of months prior. You can assume he might get hurt at any moment though...

Which is what I do assume. He has not recovered from his injury. Or Stanton.
Johnson was awful on the Yankees.

This tweet did not show up on my screen. We're stuck listening to the ESPN Sunday night crew for the Yankees/Indians series. I thought we were done with these clowns.

He won 17 games both years he was with the team, pitching over 200 innings both seasons. He was a lot better his first year, the second he hurt his back and his overall performance suffered.

I won't ever catch your post totals I think I’m four years older than you. If actuarial tables hold true, you should catch me within two to three years after my death. Keep posting... I don’t even know how many posts I have...
