Which is what I do assume. He has not recovered from his injury. Or Stanton. Johnson was awful on the Yankees. Johnson was better with the Yankees than you give him credit for. He won 17 games both years he was with the team, pitching over 200 innings both seasons. He was a lot better his first year, the second he hurt his back and his overall performance suffered. Thank you. That was me first instinct on Johnson. You saved me from researching him. Plus, Russ has been hard to keep up with tonight. He must have taken his weekly suppository this evening...

Winning games is a lousy measure for a pitcher. What was his ERA compared to the league average (I remember him being awful but am too lazy to look it up)

So this is 17,666. I love it when that 666 comes up for me randomly. It happens a lot. One of my former employers assigned me employee # 12666. I was thrilled! If I had played MLB, I’m sure Inwoukf have hit 666 HR, then gone to the Mexican League and hit 666 more. I would have also hit 666 doubles and stolen 666 bases. I’d give in a bit to stop at 3,666 hits and 2,666 RBI...

He had a 3.79 ERA his first year and a 5 era the second. Neither sparkling.

God exists. The important thing is choosing the right god who does exist. In this case Jesus

Can we shift back to the Yankees/Indians? That's what this thread is about.

Johnson was 5th in IP's, 2nd in strikeouts, 2nd in WHIP, 6th in hits per 9 innings and 8th in FIP. He was one of the better pitchers in the AL and far from awful, like you suggested.

Can we shift back to the Yankees/Indians? That's what this thread is about. Thankfully both games are at prime time, so I'll be able to watch them. I feel bad for fans who work during the day, of other playoff teams who are stuck playing in the afternoon.

How you feeling about our chances, Chi? If we can get past Cleveland, I like our chances better. We have a strong rotation with Cole, Tanaka, Happ and Garcia, the bullpen can dominate, and hopefully by then, Judge & Stanton will back in the swing of things.

Well, I’m pumping up a bit, too. There is no better feeling than than beating a pitcher that’s owned the league during the season in the post season. If you cant beat him, at least get his pitch count up where either he’ll become beatable or get removed from the game. Knowing Cleveland has its offense as a vulnerable point can ease the mind. , especially with Cole on the mound...Cleveland appears to have a solid but unspectacular bullpen that can be nicked for a few runs...
