PAX IS BACK Also on the field early Monday afternoon was James Paxton, the lefthander who has not pitched since Aug. 20 because of a strained flexor in his left forearm. He was throwing on the flat ground in shallow right field, making progressions back until he was long tossing at about 90 feet. “Yes, he is making progress. Part of the reason he’s here is because of the progress he made to be able to start throwing again so he can be an option towards the end of the postseason,” Boone said. “That’s why he’s in the bubble and part of our 40 (player pool) crew, and we’ll see where it leads over the next couple of weeks.” Just about two weeks ago, Paxton’s year seemed over. He was shut down from throwing in the rehab and then transferred to the 45-day injured list to make room for a catcher the Yankees wanted to sign and send to the Alternate Training Site. www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/ny-notebook-roster-paxton-20200929-5wnuspralzac5ak53ljlqnwgee-story.htmlSo anyway who makes this roster and who doesn't? Pax for late inning lefty specialist! I'd be really hesitate about using Paxton in a playoff game, after being out for such a long time.

Yahoo actually has the Yankees ranked #1 and Indians #2 of all the playoff teams. Dodgers? Indians offense has been mediocre. The Indians offense has been mediocre most of the season, although they turned it on the last two weeks. We need Cole to turn them back off.

The Yankees roster has been released for the first round. The only change I would have made is Andujar in for Ford, but the rest makes sense.

Good, no Angel Hernandez, Joe West or C.B. Buckner.

Luke Voit wasn't even on the roster last year so quite the turn around.
