I think there might have been an option on play. If Garcia would have had one of those super-efficient innings we’ve seen in the first and gotten three outs in like 10-12 pitches, we might have seen him come back for another inning (or more). As it was, he labored for well over 20 pitches. I sort of liked the move. Too bad Happ served one up... I actually would not be surprised to see Garcia start game 4, or even be the guy coming in after an inning of Montgomery to throw the bulk innings... Then, why was Happ warming up at the beginning of the inning? In case the kid had the jitters and totally shit the bed...

The Yanks just flushed this game down the toilet. Great time for an experiment, huh?

Boone's an idiot but Happ can't let this scrub beat him. You think that was Boone? That had to be one of those decisions from above.. I wonder if any of those number crunching geeks in the front office will step up and take ownership of this decision?

Nice throw Happ. Coming up small in the postseason again.

This game is far from over but obviously this strategy is a fail. Hopefully we will get some good innings from our middle relievers. Weird decision at best.

Like the reason the Yankees have done so well so far in the postseason is they haven't let up and kept putting their foot down scoring runs over powering teams. Why do something like what they just did with Garcia and Happ when it was 1-1 and Glasnow was already at 40 pitches? Even if they come back to win this the decision is stupid.

I don't think the decision is terrible if Garcia is available to start Game 4 with his usual workload. It was just used to get the lefties in the lineup for Happ. Happ just didn't come through. It's more on Happ than anyone.

Plus Happ's got nothing.

In case the kid had the jitters and totally shit the bed... Again, why pitch a starter one inning, then? That’s been a legitimate question for about two years now. To be clear, I don’t like the opener. I believe the Yankees of all teams should stick to traditional baseball and not have to resort to wizardry and trickery to field a full baseball team at all times. Yet, despite what I think, it’s happening all over baseball. I can accept it, but go do so I have to choke back vomit...
