Are we talking about Tampa or the Yankees We need a starter to go 5 innings. And Judge to start hitting. Montgomery is fully capable of doing that. In five innings he will likely allow somewhere between 0 and 5 earned runs. In his final three starts he made it through five innings twice, missing reaching that mark in his other start by one out. We’d prefer to see Montgomery at his best, allowing no earned (nor unearned runs). We’ll get what we get... This might be where we see Garcia step in as a piggyback. Who knows what inning. We wouldn’t expect to need Garcia in a game five, with Cole starting. I’m going to call it burden on Montgomery. If he can pitch well, then Garcia may not get into the game until The fifth or sixth. If Monty starts to lose control of the game earlier, Garcia may be brought in earlier...

All right, Ruthie is awake and fully operational. Off to mountains we go. May get home in time to see the end of this one. Not gonna stress over it. Can’t change it if they’re going to bumble...can’t stop it if they’re going to tear a wing or two off these Rays...

OK, win or the season is over. Here's the lineup I'd go with.
1. Hicks CF 2. D.J. 2B 3. Stanton DH 4. Voit 1B 5. Judge RF 6. Geo 3B 7. Torres SS 8. Frazier LF 9. Higgy C
Hicks on a hot streak and has been getting on base, so I'd stick him at the top of the lineup. Slid the struggling Judge down and put the red hot Stanton at the 3rd sport.

We have 12 hits the last two games and Stanton has had 4 of them. We need Judge to step up(I'm being Captain obvious there). I am sure this is the biggest start of Montgomery's career. It is time to prove he is the 3-4th starter we hope he can be. Not a lot of tweaking Boone can do with the lineup now. Perhaps Higgy/Sanchez and Gardner/Frazier(they both strike out a lot). I'm optimistic until it is time not to be.

They mash lefties and hit breaking balls well as opposed to fastballs. If Garcia is available I would have just started Garcia for as long as he could go first. Oh well. Let's hope Montgomery can buck the trends and the lineup can put a lot of runs on the board.

I like that lineup a lot but I would bet you a shiny nickel Boone will keep the batting order the way it is. It would be nice to get some hitting from Voit. He is due.

Its all hands on deck now and he only threw 27 pitches Tuesday. I would also not hesitate to use Britton and Chapman early. We just don't want to get too far behind if Montgomery/Garcia aren't effective. Enough of the negativity from me though.

Also, if they use Garcia out of the pen tonight, they're forcing a 20 year old kid into a role he's not used to in the most important game of the season. Not very smart.

Gardner strikes out 3 times last night and gets move up in the lineup.
