. That seems to be an overpay in his market. Sadly, while we’ve admired DJ’s serious mind set for a couple seasons, we also see that he’s about as greedy as any one else when you get down to his roots... Both sides are ignorant of the can’t figure out that year 5 could be a mutual option... He’s not greedy. I predicted 5 years and 100 million months ago and listed some of the players (not on LeMahieu’s level) who had similar deals. This is who the Yankees are now and have been for the last seven or eight years - since Hal, essentially. They will over pay for - seemingly - big names (Cole, Stanton, Tulowitzki, Ellsbury, McCann, Youkilis, Holliday, Beltran), fooling the casual fan, then fill areas of need by trying to find a pony in a pile of horse-shit. Sometimes, they are successful (Gregorius, Voit, Urshela), but mostly it’s swing and a lot of strikeouts and slow rollers (Lyle Overbay, Chris Stewart, Vernon Wells, Travis Hafner, Reid Brignac, Mark Reynolds, Jayson Nix, Brian Roberts, Stephen Drew, Kelly Johnson, Brandon Drury, Dustin Ackley, Chris Young, Brenden Ryan, Chris Carter, Neil Walker, Kendrys Morales, etc. Again, we will spend more trying to replace LeMahieu, than just paying for an extra year, and we will not get equal value. And, we will still outspend everyone. Yet, there has been only one World Series appearance in the last 20 years and none since George died in 2010. Great point. Lol Brendan Ryan...well that did turn into Castro who was at least serviceable for the Yankees for a while. Yea most of those other ones were completely worthless though. I guess Overbay had some moments and Reynolds was good at points. Not much else from that list did much of anything though.

[img alt=" " src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/UhLYtfPmGggOgPkFrmgW.gif" class="smile"] Yea let's wait for the details since we've seen reports before say a deal was done or whatever then it changes. I did feel better about it after the Voit comments so maybe that helped.

Gotta think if this is true Tanaka might be able to come back as well since they only would need to sign Kluber for one year.

Mets just keep adding apparently www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/01/mets-brad-hand-nearing-agreement.htmlThe Mets are working to sign free agent reliever Brad Hand to a two-year contract, per the Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal (via Twitter). A contract is not yet signed, however, and the two sides may not be particularly close to resolution, writes MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand (via Twitter). Rosenthal adds two other sources in concert with Feinsand’s assessment that the two sides are not as close to a deal as it was first reported.
