Further evidence that if you're a good defensive catcher, you can play for years in the big leagues, regardless of who well you hit. I would have played Kratz in the games that Tanaka and Deivi pitched during the playoffs. They had a nice rapport and Kratz hit very well with the Yankees, always staying within himself or trying to do too much in a single at bat. And Higashioka in the the other games...

Our old friend signs with the Cubs. I’ll always be a fan of his work behind the plate. Any offense he gives is a bonus. His offense wasn’t quite so good in 2020...

--Thank GOD we signed this guy--he will guarantee a trip to the WS
The 2020 season, however, proved another story, as Wojciechowski was tagged for a 6.82 ERA in 37 innings before being cut loose by the O’s.
Overall, Wojciechowski has spent parts of four seasons in the majors but struggled to a 5.95 ERA through 198 innings. He’s turned in a respectable 21.6 percent strikeout rate in that time, sitting right around the league average, and Wojciechowski has a solid track record in Triple-A, as well. Through 635 innings at the top minor league level, he’s logged a 4.27 ERA.

Prediction: We will see Wojchow in the Yankee rotation at some point in 2021. It will not be a signal of the best of times...

Last two seasons OPS+:
Romine 96, 58 Sanchez 128, 69
Nether one gets a gold star for offense. I didn’t see Romine behind the plate, but I’m sure he was his normal, better than average on the defensive side. There’s not an obvious reason for the Yankees to want either one...

As close to a DH as you can get without being a DH. Please do not win this lottery... He also has shown some inconsistency in recent years...

How crazy is that MLB still hasn't made a final decision on if the DH will or won't be in the National League in 2021? It makes roster construction for these NL teams difficult with the Braves being a good example. I'm sure they would like to resign Ozuna but they need to know what's going on with the DH first.

Round up the usual suspects. Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers and now the Mets. Why would the Yankees be looking at Ozuna? Come on, man.
