Cole made Didi look silly with a 90 mph change up (strikeout).

Jay Bruce would be a fine addition to the Yankees bench. Sorry, Mike Ford, but Bruce is my pick for the 26 man roster.

Some things never change...Voit makes the third out at third base, trying to tag on a fly ball.

Cole’s looking pretty good. Sharp change up and a 98 mph fastball. Five Ks in three innings but 60 pitches.

Does Lucas Luetge actually have a chance to make this team? He just keeps striking guys out. I would certainly give him the opportunity. Luetge has paid his dues. He’s struck out ten batters in four innings. Batters just aren’t picking up his slider. I don’t really understand the Yankees infatuation with Justin Wilson. I do not believe he’s a high leverage reliever in the AL East. I love Luetke as a dark horse. I’d be thrilled to see him outperform his resume. The dark side expectation is that he’s a one around the league superstar that gets over exposed... But even that could be fun. Anybody recall a little pitcher we had named Edwar with a monster change up? Once the hitters figured out that his fastball was garbage he was done. But, we dream. I see the potential and I want to see it work this time. 140 K’s in 80 innings. Zero HR allowed. 1.13 ERA. Takes over for Chapman for two weeks in the stretch...

Edwar Ramirez’ did have a wonderful change up, but it’s hard to throw behind in the count. Edwar lacked confidence and command - falling behind in counts and walking too many batters. He was actually decent his second season with the Yankees. According to Cone, Luetge has above average spin rate on three pitches: fastball, curveball, and that filthy slider. Unfortunately, he’s vying for a spot on one of the deepest bullpens in MLB. I hope he makes it because he offers a different look than the other relievers. He’s deserves some good luck for once, too.

I think his good fortune was Britton’s bad fortune. That’s the way sports go...

Watching the game on MLB Network. Are you making public service announcements, now? Gardy proving the Yankees made the right decision bringing him back.
