Russ should have been watching today, as he missed Aaron Hicks lay down a perfect bunt single against the shift. During the game, Phil Neven said it was something Hicks has been working on to employ against the shirt, especially if he is hitting in front of Stanton. I just do not understand what took these guys so long to realize they have an easy infield single with no one at third base. |

Another great day for Garcia and the rest of the Yankee pitchers. Devi or German for the 5th spot in the rotation, it's not an easy choice.

I wish the Yankees weren’t so hung up on Justin Wilson, since he was a free agent signing. He’ll be a bust in my opinion. German, Garcia, and Luetge all deserve to make the roster. Bruce does as well. Dietrich just has not hit. Poor Florial finally was able to get into the United States and into a Spring game. He had a hit and a stolen base today. Of course, again, the game wasn’t televised. Tyler Wade really hasn’t improved offensively, but they know what the have with him: speed to burn and above average defense wherever you put him, other than pitcher or catcher. |

I think Wade has some latent power, the discovery of which may have been to his detriment. Instead of poking the ball around, he wants to be able to turn on it... once in an Odom (blue moon, get it?) he does. Damn, that felt good, maybe I can hit another one next time I get in the game... |
