Big strikeout. 2 runs ain't terrible for the way Nelson was throwing. Is this the day the offense breaks through?

Yankees brain trust has turned into a "Confederacy of Dunces". Start King, play Gardy in center and Frazier in left 5 days a week and dump Bruce. I think they should have kept the versatile Dietrich in NY and sent Bruce home. It made me chuckle to see the reference to Confederacy of Dunces. Long ago I read that novel by John Kennedy O'Toole. Ignatius and his flapping valve. I'm not sure if that's what you're referring to Desousa, but I'm guessing it is. Rizzuto surely knows of that New Orleans author. Indeed! And, it’s just John Kennedy Toole, no O’. A truly laugh-out-loud story of New Orleans and its characters. I was given the book as a gift in 1984 by my first college English professor, who became one of my dearest friends. Many people thought he was somehow the inspiration for Ignatius’ manner of speaking, but it’s unlikely. The novel would never have seen the light of day but for Walker Percy and JKT’s eccentric mother, who convinced Percy to read her dead son’s manuscript.

Amazing how many grounders find holes for the Rays when they play the Yankees.

I was laughing my rearend off when I first read it. So bizarre, and what a sad ending for Toole. I recently thought more about it when my wife got a copy of Walker Percy's "Love In the Ruins." I just skimmed a bit of it, and it seemed rather prophetic. Well, back to the game.

I was reading Love In The Ruins years ago but never finished it; I lost the book on vacation somewhere between my hotel room and the rental car. I’m a Walker Percy fan. Have you read The Moviegoer or The Second Coming?

I wonder what the score would be if Boone just would have started Michael The Pizza King?

It’s time to platoon Aaron Hicks. He can hit against lefties and give Gardy/Tauchman the nod versus right handers.

I wonder what the score would be if Boone just would have started Michael The Pizza King? Sadly, we know how many runs the Yanks would have.
