Incredible. I was like 32 pounds or something at that point. You could have sat on me and gone home with me stuck to your back. I’d have never been seen again... I was like a head taller than everyone, except Paul Jim Terry who was like eight years old (no social promotion then) and twenty pounds heavier than me. We had a kid named Norman. Full sized adult from day one. At first he was very quiet, but when he was about 14 he seemingly discovered that he outweighed us all by 100 pounds or more. Plus we were 8. He started blocking guys paths and little stuff like that. For some reason he left me alone until I was about 12. I was working. Getting my papers ready for my paper route. He blocked me. I just said “I don’t have time Norman”. To my surprise he stepped out of the way. Must have been what his mom said to him at home or something. When we got to high school and hit the showers he became instantly ever more famous. That was very adult, too... Nobody was going bend over near him, that was for certain. Do people sometimes have arms down there? |

I always thought the throw your voice thing would be fun. “Hey mister, go put a trunk on your back and stand right there. No, really, go do it. Come on, would ya”? I liked that skeleton, too. Can you imagine that for $1.25 today? Mother: “We don’t have that kind of money to throw away”. She was right, too... |
