So seriously what is the time limit rule? A manager has a 20-second time limit (as of 2020; previously was 30 seconds) to inform the umpire (by verbal communication or hand signal) whether he wishes to use his manager challenge to invoke replay review, and the challenge may not be rescinded once it has been exercised.

Heartily agree with the sentiment, but there were 5 batters, count 'em, 5, in the line-up hitting under .200. Gardner is under .200 as well, i think. Guess it's not surprising since the whoke team is hitting barely .200. Sanchez is the one that needs to sit since he's had more than enough time to turn things around. Hicks, too, as far as I'm concerned. So basically there's no penalty for playing terrible, because their baseball card says they will start hitting again seems to be the mentality. There’s that, but then there’s also that feeling like... If I get on base, who’s gonna drive me in? Or “I can’t get the hits every night for his lame-ass”... Look, we know Gardner is near the end, and he almost wasn’t brought back. When we start bitching that he’s gone cold, or Tauchman, we’re still showing how spoiled we were during that “next man up” stretch. That was the anomaly, not this. The bench is supposed to be weaker than the starting team...So we have pieces that little should be expected of. One is Higgy, thank goodness he’s done well. We still have DJ out of position and we wonder why he’s a bit off. Should be. Odor and Torres aren’t exactly Randolph and Dent out there in the middle. We need Voit back so we can clean a few things up. That would be a great start...

The 10-second reduction in allowable time is not going to make a huge difference in length of game. That was another stupid rule change that makes no sense...

Does anyone recall Torres getting to a ball in the hole at 3rd and making a clean throw for an out even once this year? ..,

For all their problems, I don't think there's much that can be done besides giving Higgy more playing time. The roster is pretty much set. There's no call-ups ready immediately from the farm system, and with the luxury cap, reinforcements by trade aren't coming.

Rays have 12 losses Baltimore 12 Toronto 11 Boston 9 (most of their record is on the 9 game win streak they are 5-6 since) So theres def time and not much distance, but again all i takes is for one of these teams to go on a run while the Yankees pile up losses and you can be ten behind before you know it.

Several of the recent posts on this thread sum up the Yankees problems exactly, in my opinion. The problems lie within and because of situations such as horrible contracts and little help from the farm the solutions have to lie within. Guys like Hicks,Torres, Sanchez, hell everybody, have to start producing. Voit will help some but he is not the White Knight that is going to come riding in and save this team. The players we have on the roster now must do it. It is not too late.

The reason I feel it to be so important to get Voit back on the field is because there is a little rockslide that follows. DJ goes back to second, and Odor goes either into a utility role, or completely away... so Voit causes three corrections...

It's just a weird Aurora on this team right now.

I still think Gary Sanchez might be hopeless in turning it around though.
