Very pleased to be missing the start of and more of this game tonight. My neighbor has taken pity on myself and another fellow in the neighborhood as we both have traveling wives. Not sure exactly what she’s cooking but she has invited us to share a “shrimp dish” with her and her husband this evening. Pretty hard to steer shrimp in the wrong direction for me. Screw baseball, boys. I’m having shrimp tonight! I didn’t even have anything planned for dinner. Would have likely called out for pizza or ran out to a burger joint, so this is high cotton... Dinner at 5:30, so if you need anything call one of my deputies in Gardnerism... Sounds like a euphemism. I think that’s how Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich got started.  This lady just turned 72. The way she looks now, I can only imagine what she must have looked like in her prime years. She and Chuck have been together for 53 years now, and they treat each other wonderfully. It’s beautiful to see them together. |

I’m digesting that wonderful shrimp dinner. Rice, grits (I passed on those), green beans, rice.
An apple fritter with ice cream for dessert. Great conversation, find yourself have to linger to long afterward. Perfect!
